Ítem Producción de compuestos de interés económico a partir de los residuos lignocelulósicos de la cereza del café(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) González Criollo, Karen Meliza; Echeverry Prieto, Lena Carolina; Rojas Tapias, Daniel Fernando; Echeverry Prieto, Lena Carolina [0000-0002-6940-4383]; Rojas Tapias, Daniel Fernando [0000-0002-4051-7907]Colombia is currently positioned as one of the leading producers and exporters of mild coffee in the world. However, it is estimated that the annual coffee production generates 784,000 tons of pulp waste, a compound rich in cellulose, a polymer made up of glucose monomers, which can be used for the production of various economically important metabolites such as glutamic acid. Glutamic acid is an amino acid currently used in the production of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and biosurfactants such as sodium cocoyl glutamate. This study evaluated the production of glutamic acid from cellulose using a microbial consortium composed of Corynebacterium glutamicum and two cellulolytic microorganisms (Cellulomonas phragmiteti and Ralstonia pickettii, bacteria capable of hydrolyzing cellulose into glucose and cellobiose). It was confirmed that, although R. pickettii and C. glutamicum were compatible bacteria, they were unable to produce glutamic acid from cellulose together. On the other hand, it was demonstrated that C. glutamicum and C. phragmiteti were able to develop a synergy for glutamic acid production from cellulose.Ítem Diseño de un modelo de gestión sostenible para glampings en áreas naturales protegidas en Suesca, Cundinamarca(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Sanchez Sinisterra , Cindy Lorena; Coy Verano , UrielThe growing popularity of nature tourism and the demand for unique and environmentally friendly experiences have driven the development of glamping in protected natural areas. However, this trend poses challenges in terms of ecosystem conservation and the sustainable development of local communities. There is no doubt that the growth of this market is evident worldwide. One relevant fact is that the custom began in the United States after the COVID-19 pandemic, when people attended concerts with tents to ensure they were protected from the crowd (Díaz et al., 2023). It is important to clarify that glamping is not limited to camping but offers different forms of accommodation. Following Hudman (1978), it can be said that there is greater awareness of travel in developing countries. However, these problems arise due to the lack of adequate planning policies to minimize environmental impact, as the focus is more on the economy than on life (Puentes Sandoval, 2020). The main objective of this monograph is to develop a proposal for a sustainable management model for glamping sites that minimizes environmental impact and maximizes socioeconomic benefits in protected natural areas of Suesca, Cundinamarca. The research results are intended to inform the design of a sustainable management model adaptable to different contexts and types of glamping sites.Ítem Apoyo al diagnóstico e implementación del Sistema de Gestión Ambiental del INVIMA conforme a la NTC ISO 14001:2015(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Ladino Peñuela, María Fernanda; Figueroa Fernández, José Alberto; Figueroa Fernández, José Alberto [0000-0002-1037-9881]The National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (INVIMA) is a technical-scientific entity responsible for implementing national policies regarding inspection, surveillance and sanitary control of products that have a direct impact on the health of the population. Currently, the INVIMA Environmental Management System is projected to have certification under NTC ISO 14001:2015, which demands its prompt reformulation. Due to this, the institute supported the execution of this internship project, which aimed to support the implementation of the INVIMA Environmental Management System through strategic actions based on compliance with NTC ISO 14001:2015. The internship project was developed through a first diagnostic stage to identify opportunities for improvement with the formulation of a compliance assessment tool for NTC ISO 14001:2015 and a report with findings and specific changes required by the system, a second stage of formulation of actions that facilitate the environmental management of the entity and align the planning of the system with the requirements of the technical standard, a third stage of implementing actions aimed at strengthening the Environmental Management System in its different components with the construction of an institutional program to anticipate, mitigate and adapt to climate change and the document "INVIMA Environmental Management System Manual" as an input resource during system audits, and a final evaluation stage that sought to evaluate the results of the implemented strategies and whose record was generated through the 1st. Semiannual report of environmental monitoring to the Bogotá offices. It is concluded that the advances in the institute's environmental management have been very valuable in complying with NTC ISO 14001:2015 and that it is necessary for the institute to implement a progressive action plan to align the system with the requirements of the standard, prioritizing those sections that reported lower levels of compliance and taking into account the tools made available to the institute as key elements for certification.Ítem Propuesta de actualización a los programas del PGIRS de Chía, Cundinamarca(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Barriga Suárez, Jhon Alexander; Carrasco Murillo, Adriana Milena; Sanchez Sanchez, Fernando; Sanchez Sanchez, Fernando [0000-0002-1038-3055]This work presents a proposal for updating the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (PGIRS) of the municipality of Chía, Cundinamarca. It is based on the methodological framework established in Resolution 0754 of 2014 for the formulation, implementation, evaluation, monitoring, control, and updating of PGIRS. The update proposal was structured in three phases: (1) Updating the baseline, which allowed for a characterization of the municipality's current situation regarding solid waste management, using economic, social, environmental, technical, and operational parameters, based on secondary information obtained from local entities. (2) Identifying key issues in integrated solid waste management through a cause-and-effect analysis (represented in a problem tree), followed by the prioritization of these issues. Objective trees were also developed as a basis for resolving the identified problems. (3) Updating the PGIRS programs, taking into account the regulatory framework, diagnostic changes identified in the baseline, the identified problems, and the defined objectives. This also considered the existing programs and projects in the current PGIRS of Chía, including verification methods and risk identification for each project within the thirteen programs established by Resolution 0754 of 2014. The proposal also includes a timeline and financial plan. Despite institutional efforts, recovery levels remain low, and a high proportion of waste (78% of total generated) continues to be disposed of in the sanitary landfill. Structural causes were identified, such as lack of inter-institutional coordination, insufficient planning, weak public awareness, and limited coverage of educational campaigns. The operational instability of recycler associations was also noted, along with the need to strengthen their sustainability and inclusion. A total of 13 programs and 17 projects were developed, including three programs that were not included in the currently valid PGIRS of the municipality, prepared in 2015. This update proposal responds to changes in population, economic, and environmental dynamics experienced by the municipality, thus reinforcing integrated solid waste management in all aspects defined by current regulations. It emphasizes the importance of expanding service coverage in various areas of waste management and structurally strengthening the waste recovery system.Ítem Propuesta metodológica para la actualización del mapa de amenazas por incendios forestales en el suelo rural del Distrito Capital, elaborado en 2014 por la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas junto al FOPAE(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Sánchez Arias, Catalina; Figueroa Fernández, AlbertoIn 2014, the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas and the then FOPAE developed a wildfire hazard map for the rural areas of Bogotá, a key tool for prevention and response to this environmental risk. However, a decade later, the context has changed significantly: the effects of climate change, urban expansion into rural zones, transformations in vegetation cover, and new socio-economic dynamics have shaped a different territory. This raises the question: what is the predictive capacity of the 2014 wildfire hazard model in relation to the actual distribution and frequency of fires recorded between 2014 and 2024 in Bogotá’s rural areas? A methodological update, based on recent data, new technologies, and rigorous criteria, can make the difference between effective prevention and delayed response. In this context, there is a clear need to critically review and update the wildfire hazard model developed ten years ago. This thesis proposes a methodology to update the map, taking into account fires recorded between 2014 and 2024, as well as environmental, climatic, vegetation, infrastructure, and land-use variables. Spatial and geostatistical analysis techniques were employed using ArcGIS Pro and RStudio, along with statistical methods such as logistic regression, ROC curves, and random forest models. A comparison between the two original indices—one focused on physical factors and the other on vegetation cover—allowed for evaluating their predictive capacity and relevance under the new territorial context. Preliminary results show that, although certain historical patterns persist (such as fire concentration in the south and seasonality), the magnitude and distribution of events have changed, revealing new critical areas and questioning the validity of the original model. The 51% increase in fires during the 2019–2024 period compared to 2014–2018 highlights the urgency of having more robust, adaptive, and updated tools.Ítem Diseño de una matriz de evaluación para PGIRS en ciudades capitales de Colombia(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Medina Bustos, Daniel Felipe; Sánchez Sánchez , Fernando; Castañeda Angarita, Natalia; Sánchez Sánchez, Fernando [0000-0002-1038-3055]In response to the need to standardize the evaluation of Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plans (PGIRS) in Colombia's 33 capital cities, this study designed an evaluation matrix based on current regulations and the technical requirements of the Colombian Association of Capital Cities (Asocapitales), with the aim of strengthening its advisory services and promoting the transition to circular economy models. Through a three-phase methodological process—regulatory analysis, identification and prioritization of 30 criteria grouped into 10 categories, and design of quantifiable indicators—a dual-component tool was developed: an Individual Evaluation Form for each city and a Consolidated Comparative Matrix, which allow for detailed diagnoses and strategic analyses at the national level. Conceptually validated through a pilot test, the matrix translates the dispersed legal complexity into clear, auditable, and hierarchical criteria (priority and complementary), providing Asocapitales with a technical tool to promote continuous improvement, informed decision-making, and optimization of solid waste management in the country, although its widespread implementation will depend on the availability and quality of official information from each city.Ítem Formulación del plan de manejo ambiental de la finca la Canangucha del municipio de La Montañita en el departamento del Caquetá(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Ayala Fuentes, Giovanny; Cendales Casallas, Jeimmy Andrea; Garcia Valbuena, Cesar Augusto; García Valbuena, César Augusto [0000-0002-5899-4955]The project arises from the need to design a productive system for La Canangucha farm that is compatible with the environmental and social dynamics of the municipality of La Montañita, Caquetá. Through the collection of on-site and bibliographic information, as well as the use of cartographic, design, and office software (ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, etc.), an Environmental Management Plan is formulated to enable the sustainable development of different productive activities within the farm. The project is developed up to the pre-feasibility stage, which includes activities such as the territorial characterization of each component of the biotic, abiotic, and socioeconomic environments; the identification of productive activities expected to be carried out on the farm; and finally, the formulation of management records. For its development, the General Methodology for the Preparation and Presentation of Environmental Studies by ANLA (2018) is adapted and taken as a reference. The project aims to establish comprehensive management of the farm under the instrument of the Environmental Management Plan, allowing its sustainable use and, if possible, the development of productive activities in a sustainable manner.Ítem Evaluación de pili bacteriano para la generación de electricidad mediante efecto hidrovoltaico(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Franco Aranda, Duvan Steven; Echeverry Prieto, Lena Carolina; Echeverry Prieto, Lena Carolina [0000-0002-6940-4383]The existence of emerging technologies for electricity generation has been the basis for improving Colombia's energy matrix, especially in the ZNI (Non-Interconnected Zones) where the so-called FNCER (Non-Interconnected Energy Networks) are implemented. However, researchers have shown that there is a potential superior to photovoltaic energy in so-called hydrovoltaic energy based on bacterial nanowires, which consists of the generation of an electrical potential due to the interaction of water molecules with a bacterial pili nanostructure matrix. This document seeks to evaluate the potential of P. aeruginosa pili for electricity generation through the hydrovoltaic effect. To this end, the pili are purified by precipitation, centrifugation, and dialysis, quantified by the Biuret method, characterized by SDS-PAGE, and subsequently used to design hydrovoltaic cells for comparison with the characteristics of a good hydrovoltaic material. This demonstrated compliance with the four characteristics and the generation of electricity; however, the voltage is reduced, which is associated with the low conductivity of the pili. This is a problem for which some solutions are proposed, and the potential of protein structures to generate electricity through the hydrovoltaic effect is discussed.Ítem Apoyo al seguimiento de los planes y programas de Compensar para el cumplimiento de los requisitos legales ambientales(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Daza Cervantes, Karen Paola; Espinosa García, Helmut; Espinosa García, Helmut [0000-0001-9341-3995]The present undergraduate project, developed under the internship modality at the Caja de Compensación Familiar Compensar, was framed within the organization’s Environmental Management System (EMS). The main objective was to support monitoring activities of environmental plans and programs in Bogotá, in order to contribute to compliance with environmental and sanitary legal requirements. The work focused on the program “Con la Cabeza en la Tierra”, prioritizing the areas of waste management, circular economy, and environmental education. As a result, the internship contributed to improving Compensar’s environmental performance by identifying critical areas and proposing optimization actions. A diagnostic of the EMS legal requirements was conducted to verify the level of compliance, waste management was strengthened through data analysis and recording, the composting project was evaluated within the framework of the circular economy, and the environmental education component was supported through awareness-raising campaigns.Ítem Plan de gestión integral de residuos sólidos generados por la empresa Hunter Douglas de Colombia(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) González Ramirez, Harold; Soracipa Casallas , Diana Paola; Gutiérrez Malaxechebarría, Álvaro Martín; Gutiérrez Malaxechebarría, Álvaro Martín [0000-0002-2306-1610]This document is an Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan for the company Hunter Douglas Colombia, which encompasses the development of the following phases: (1) Diagnosis of the company’s waste generation and management, through an analysis of management indicators for the 2021–2023 period regarding recyclable, general, and hazardous waste, along with the review of the action plans implemented by the company during the study period, solid waste quartering sampling, and verification of the environmental licenses of waste management service providers; (2) Identification and assessment of the environmental impacts associated with the company’s waste generation and management, applying the CONESA impact assessment matrix; (3) Proposal of strategies to prevent, mitigate, and control environmental impacts derived from waste management, using the SWOT matrix, the Logical Framework Methodology of ECLAC, the development of an importance and governance matrix, and the prioritization matrix, resulting in strategies that enable the implementation of measures to improve solid waste management in compliance with environmental legal requirements.Ítem apoyo al grupo aire y urbano de la corporación para el desarrollo sostenible del área de manejo especial la macarena –cormacarena en el proceso de seguimiento, trazabilidad y adaptación de las tecnologías apropiadas implementadas en el programa escuelas de campo(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Torijano Salazar, Xamara; Mejía de Alba, Martha IsabelThis document describes the internship process in the Aire y Urbano Group of Cormacarena. The objective was to "Develop technical support strategies for the formulation of the Environmental Management Plan for the Brinsa - Santa Ana - Las Mercedes Wetland in the municipalities of Cajicá and Zipaquirá, within the framework of CAR's institutional management, considering ecological conservation and restoration measures." This plan contributes to the management of water resources and the fulfillment of Activity 06.3.1 "Formulate, update, and/or implement environmental management plans for wetlands in the CAR Territory" of the Four-Year Action Plan of the CAR Cundinamarca 2024-2027. As the main outcome of this internship, the corporation received a proposal for an Environmental Management Plan for the Brinsa Wetland Complex, developed based on the baseline information provided by the CAR. This proposal follows the guidelines proposed in Resolution 196 of 2006 and contains the biotic and abiotic characterization of the wetland, the evaluation of said characterization and the action plan with the appropriate measures for the conservation and restoration of the wetland.Ítem Evaluación del aprovechamiento energético de residuos municipales e industriales por coprocesamiento en hornos cementeros: Caso de estudio Regenera(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Viracacha Murcia, Lisday Andrea; Alarcón Hincapié, Juan Carlos; Alarcón Hincapié, Juan Carlos [0000-0003-0872-6116]The energy utilization of municipal and industrial waste through co-processing in cement kilns is presented as a comprehensive solution to two global challenges: sustainable waste management and reducing dependence on fossil fuels in the cement industry. This research focuses on evaluating the technical, environmental, and economic feasibility of using waste-derived fuels (RDFs) for energy utilization through co-processing of waste in cement kilns. To this end, key parameters such as calorific value, moisture, and ash content are used to identify the most suitable wastes, while also identifying potential challenges. The results obtained demonstrate that this process not only optimizes energy efficiency but also validates regulatory compliance and minimizes environmental impacts, providing a solid basis for decision-making for industries interested in reducing their carbon footprint through proper waste management (in the case of suppliers), and for companies and organizations specializing in the treatment and recovery of such waste. Additionally, it is evident that this alternative is aligned with local regulations and complies with international standards, with benefits such as reducing waste going to landfills, with proper pretreatment (primarily the separation stage) ensuring that it does not compete with primary recycling (waste hierarchy). The Colombian regulatory framework, although lacking specific regulations for co-processing, allows for its implementation under general waste management and emissions control provisions. The information generated in this work contributes to filling the research gap in the local context, providing technical data on non-traditional waste and establishing academic foundations for future policies. Environmental impact assessments, using methodologies such as CONESA, confirm that the process is compatible with the environment, provided strict emissions controls are maintained and the selection of suitable waste is prioritized. Thus, co-processing emerges as a viable alternative for Colombian industries committed to sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint.Ítem Aplicabilidad de los parámetros técnicos de macro y micro localización en estaciones de monitoreo tipo tráfico para fuentes lineales en la localidad de Engativá de Bogotá D.C.(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas.) Acosta Alejo, Jessica Alejandra; Navarrete Ramírez, Laura Melissa; Murad Pedraza, José Alejandro; Murad Pedraza, José Alejandro [0000-0003-4211-2601]This study carried out a macro- and microlocalization technical analysis to propose the location of traffic-oriented air quality monitoring stations in Engativá, Bogotá. The methodology included the characterization of main roads, trunk roads, arterial and secondary streets, along with the review of land use, population density and traffic flow data. A network was designed combining fixed stations supported by indicative stations, applying criteria established in national regulations (MAVDT 2010 Protocol) and international standards (40 CFR Part 58). The results identified priority areas near high-traffic corridors and sensitive residential zones, defining a monitoring scheme capable of capturing the spatial variability of pollutants from mobile sources. It is concluded that the proposed design can improve the representativeness and coverage of the air quality surveillance system in the locality, providing a technical basis for its future implementation and expansion.Ítem Aplicabilidad de parámetros técnicos de macro y micro localización en estaciones de monitoreo tipo tráfico para fuentes lineales en las localidades de Teusaquillo y Barrios Unidos de Bogotá D.CAmortegui Galvis , Nicolle Dayana; Medina León, María Paula; Murad Pedraza, José Alejandro; Murad Pedraza, José Alejandro [0000-0003-4211-2601]The report outlines a technical study on the strategic placement of air quality monitoring stations in the Teusaquillo and Barrios Unidos neighborhoods of Bogotá, focusing on the main and arterial roads with high vehicular traffic. Using macro and micro localization parameters, optimal locations were identified for the installation of traffic-type stations, both conventional and indicative, considering key aspects such as road connectivity, vehicle density, land use, and local meteorological conditions. The analysis also includes the selection of appropriate equipment to measure pollutants such as particulate matter PM10 and PM2.5, sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NO and NO2), and Black carbon, ensuring data accuracy and representativeness. Furthermore, areas with the highest traffic volume were prioritized, proposing a phased implementation to allow more efficient coverage of areas with greater environmental impact, in compliance with international technical standards to ensure the reliability and usefulness of the information obtained.Ítem Diseño de guía técnica para la solicitud o renovación de permisos de vertimientos para la empresa Profesional Hidráulico sas(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Barreto Sánchez, Vrindarani; Murad Pedraza, José Alejandro; Murad Pedraza, José Alejandro [0000-0003-4211-2601]The present work contains the design of a technical guide that allows to have a methodology route for the construction of the Environmental Evaluation of the Dumping and the Risk Management Plan for the Dumping Management, such components of the Dumping Permit, contemplating the scenarios of application for the first time and renewal, for the company PH SAS, where the internship is carried out, as a tool to carry out and guarantee that the client or user who acquires the services of this company, is delivering the necessary documentation and requirements stipulated by the regulations, thus certifying that their wastewater is discharged in conditions that are accepted by the natural resource, thus reducing the degree of affectation to the surface body, and preventing other impacts that may be generated.Ítem Formulación del Plan de Manejo Ambiental de la finca “El Recuerdo” ubicada en la vereda Anatolí, municipio de La Mesa, Cundinamarca(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) García Bermúdez, Nazhly Bellanid; Vargas Ortega, Manuel Santiago; García Valbuena, César AugustoThe El Recuerdo farm, located in Anatolí of the municipality of La Mesa, Cundinamarca, covers 1.5 hectares and is home to productive activities such as vegetable gardening, livestock farming, laying poultry, rural lodging, and coffee cultivation, the latter being the main economic activity. However, traditional agricultural practices, the improper use of natural resources, and the incorporation of activities such as tourism have led to significant environmental impacts on the biotic, abiotic, and socioeconomic environments, compromising the medium and long term sustainability of the farm's productive systems. This document arises from the need to adopt an environmentally responsible approach that guarantees the protection of biodiversity, the efficient use of natural resources, adequate waste management, the restoration of vegetation cover, and the promotion of active and participatory environmental education. The plan's formulation is based on a comprehensive characterization of the farm's resources, the identification of production processes, the analysis of environmental impacts, and finally, the structuring of environmental management measures that are coordinated with monitoring and follow-up indicators and a contingency plan. Therefore, the formulation of an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) becomes a technical tool that integrates sustainable practices into all productive and service activities on the farm, with the aim of preventing, mitigating, correcting, and offsetting negative environmental impacts, as well as enhancing positive effects.Ítem Apoyo al proceso de renovación del aval como negocio verde otorgado por la Secretaría Distrital de Ambiente a la empresa Volver Diseño y Producción Ecológica S.A.S - (Pasantía)(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Duque Guerra, Juanita; Guzmán Medina, Beatriz HelenaThis document presents the internship development process carried out at Volver Diseño y Producción Ecológica S.A.S., a company dedicated to the manufacturing of products using recycled materials. The main objective of the internship was to support the process of renewing the Green Business certification granted by the District Department of Environment. To achieve this, a review was conducted to verify compliance with the criteria required by the entity, along with the collection and systematization of technical, environmental, social, and legal information related to the organization. Among the activities carried out, the preparation of supporting documents, the strengthening of the corporate social responsibility program, and the proposal of indicators for monitoring environmental performance stand out. As a result, the documentation required for the renewal process was reinforced, and continuous improvement actions were proposed. This experience allowed for the application of knowledge acquired during academic training and highlighted the importance of technical support in environmental validation processes within sustainable-oriented companies.Ítem Formulación de estrategias de manejo ambiental para el aprovechamiento financiero de residuos sólidos mediante la modelación de su generación en la unidad residencial el gualí(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) García Tovar, Laura Valentina; Chalcualan Derazo, Viviana Patricia; Mejía de Alba, Martha IsabelThe main objective of this research is to formulate environmental management strategies for the financial utilization of solid waste generated in the Gualí residential area in Bogotá. This work sought to develop a systems dynamics model in Vensim software, integrating different variables related to waste generation, including population, recycling and utilization rates, economic profit, technology effectiveness, and CO2 emissions. The results obtained showed four possible scenarios where a system with different utilization levels, final waste, and the use of environmental technologies that allow for solid waste reduction could be identified and analyzed. Through this model, environmental projects focused on financially sustainable decision-making can be implemented, which also allow for reducing impacts and generating positive impacts on the urban residential environment through the implementation of sustainable technologies, supported by planning and modeling processes, demonstrating an improvement in the efficiency of waste management in cities.Ítem Plan de manejo ambiental de la finca Costa Rica, ubicada en el municipio de Zipacón, Cundinamarca(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Acuña Bulla , Santiago; Castillo Guerrero, Valentina; García Valbuena, César Augusto; García Valbuena, César Augusto [0000-0002-5899-4955]The Costa Rica farm, located in the municipality of Zipacón, Cundinamarca, faces a series of environmental challenges that threaten its long-term sustainability and productivity. These challenges include soil erosion, water and soil pollution due to the inadequate management of organic waste (mostly from the pulping of coffee cherries) and honey waters, as well as the lack of technological advancement in composting, vermiculture, and the use of septic tanks instead of a sewage system, all of which can pose potential risks of soil and water contamination in the area. Another identified issue is that part of the flow from the nearby dry river ends up discharging into a sinkhole near the property, which is gradually consuming part of the farm's land. This situation represents a threat to the integrity of the soil and the structural stability of the farm, which in turn could negatively affect crop productivity and the safety of the facilities. These problems compromise not only the integrity of the farm’s natural environment but also the health of its workers and the surrounding community. The proposed methodological process to achieve this objective consists of three fundamental stages. First, a detailed characterization of the farm’s biotic, abiotic, and socioeconomic components will be carried out using tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), direct field observations, and interviews with owners and workers. Then, the activities carried out on the farm were thoroughly described through the collection of documents, structured interviews, and direct observations. Finally, specific environmental measures, a monitoring and follow-up plan, and a contingency plan were proposed, based on the analysis of the collected data and the assessment of potential environmental impacts. The results of this work are expected to lead to the effective implementation of measures that mitigate the identified problems, such as soil erosion, pollution, and inadequate waste management, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Additionally, the Comprehensive Environmental Management Plan is expected to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the Costa Rica farm and the local community, as well as protecting the natural environment in which it operates.
