The research adopts a mixed-methods, descriptive approach that combines documentary analysis with questionnaires administered to secondary school students, teachers, and local businesses. The results reveal that the relevance of higher education in Funza is limited in terms of coverage, diversity, and alignment with local demands. There is a weak connection between the academic programs available and the needs of the productive sector. Regarding barriers to accessing higher education, educational institutions highlight the lack of vocational guidance and a widespread lack of awareness of available programs, while students emphasize the financial burden as the main obstacle. Furthermore, when choosing academic programs and institutions, students prioritize labor market opportunities, such as program demand, employment prospects, and expected income.Within this context, the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas emerges as an institution with high potential. It is recognized by the productive sector and has been included in the municipality’s educational policy plans. Perceptions compared to other institutions already operating in Funza suggest favorable conditions for its positioning, especially if effective dissemination strategies are implemented to promote programs, access routes, and available benefits. In conclusion, Funza faces significant challenges in strengthening the relevance of its higher education offerings butalso has concrete opportunities for improvement. It is recommended to diversify the academic offerings and enhance articulation processes between educational institutions, the community, and the productive sector to achieve this goal.Ítem Evaluación de la tendencia de emprendimiento de los estudiantes de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas en el periodo académico 2025-1(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Rodríguez Avalo, Valentina; Garces Gonzalez, Adriana Maria; Toledo Bueno, Carlos Augusto; García Barreto, Germán Alberto (Catalogador)This study evaluates the entrepreneurial trend of Industrial Engineering students at the Francisco José de Caldas District University during the 2025-1C academic period. The main motivation was to demonstrate how these technologies could be effectively applied in Colombian rural contexts to improve agricultural productivity, sustainability, and competitiveness. The proposed hypothesis suggests that the limited technological adoption in this segment of Colombian agriculture is due to barriers such as insufficient infrastructure, lack of technical training, and restricted access to financing, and that overcoming these barriers would enable a transition toward more efficient and sustainable agricultural models. Although the main study was documentary, it was supported by previous research such as that conducted by De La Peña and Granados (2023), who surveyed 500 small cocoa producers in Colombia to identify their technological needs. These empirical references were used to support the socioeconomic conditions of small farmers and to extrapolate some of their findings to the case of potato cultivation. In addition, a comparative review was carried out focusing on crops such as potato, rice, and maize, due to their relevance to food security and their representation within small and medium-scale national agriculture. The methodology was qualitative, based on a systematic documentary review. A total of 156 academic documents were collected and analyzed through recognized databases such as Scielo, ScienceDirect, Dialnet, and Google Scholar. After applying exclusion criteria, the final sample consisted of 40 relevant sources. Boolean formulas were used to optimize search strategies, and the studies were evaluated in terms of relevance, methodological rigor, and currency. The review made it possible to build a conceptual framework on the implementation of technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, big data, and sensors in agriculture, especially in low-resource contexts. Regarding the results, 89% of the analyzed studies addressed the use of sensors and IoT devices in agriculture, and 71% examined the use of digital platforms for crop monitoring. Furthermore, 76% of the studies focused on highly digitalized countries, revealing a technological gap compared to the Colombian case. Crops such as potato, rice, and maize were identified as the most studied within smart farming strategies. In Colombia, 75% of technological initiatives are concentrated in large-scale farming, while small and medium producers have limited access to these innovations. The department of Boyacá was identified as a strategic region to initiate a pilot plan for digital transformation in potato cultivation. The research concludes that the implementation of Industry 4.0 tools in the agriculture of small and medium-sized Colombian producers remains incipient. The main barriers identified include poor digital infrastructure in rural areas, limited access to technology, insufficient technical training, and lack of financing. Although there are public policies aimed at promoting agro-industrial development, they have not achieved significant technological adoption among small producers, limiting their competitiveness and efficiency in the face of challenges such as climate change and pressure on natural resources. Based on these findings, it is suggested to design digital transformation plans tailored to the Colombian rural context. These plans should include digital literacy programs for farmers, specific credit lines for acquiring agricultural technologies, expansion of connectivity in rural areas, and technical assistance in the use of digital tools. Additionally, it is recommended to implement regional technology pilots, such as the one proposed in Boyacá, to evaluate the effectiveness of Industry 4.0 technologies in strategic crops like potato, thus generating a replicable model at the national level.Ítem Optimización de procesos de fabricación en PYMES de la industria de alimentos y bebidas mediante la implementación de inteligencia artificial: beneficios y retos(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Alvarado Pinzon, Diana Milena; Silva Bermudez, Johan Sebastian; Rodriguez Molano, Jose Ignacio; García Barreto, Germán Alberto (Catalogador)This paper aimed to analyze how artificial intelligence (AI) is being applied in the production processes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the food and beverage sector in Colombia during 2023 - 2025, with a focus on a sample composed of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The aim was to understand what benefits have been achieved, what obstacles have been encountered, and what conditions have helped or hindered the implementation of this technology. To this end, a mixed methodology was used, in which surveys were conducted among entrepreneurs in the sector and documents on previous experiences were reviewed. The results showed that many microenterprises still operate manually or with very basic tools, while medium-sized companies have begun to use more digital technology. Areas were identified where AI can generate significant improvements, such as inventory management, production planning, and customer data analysis. However, it was also noted that there is little knowledge about other important applications, such as preventive maintenance and quality control. The main obstacles were a lack of technical knowledge, a lack of financial resources, and a certain resistance to change. Despite this, opportunities were also seen, such as an interest in innovation and the existence of some support programs.Ítem Diseño de la estrategia comercial para la empresa Universal Learning S.A.S.(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Clavijo Murcia, David Alejandro; Vargas Hernández, César AsdraldoThe purpose of this project is to design a business strategy for Universal Learning S.A.S., a company dedicated to developing technological solutions for virtual education and e-learning. The proposal seeks to strengthen its market position by diversifying its customer acquisition channels and consolidating its AI-based value proposition, thereby overcoming its current dependence on word of mouth and a small number of corporate clients. To achieve this, a detailed analysis of the e-learning context in Colombia was carried out, identifying trends such as the sustained growth of virtual learning, the adoption of AI, and the need for personalized educational solutions. Universal Learning's current commercial approach was also studied, highlighting technical and pedagogical strengths, but with limited market penetration and a lack of management indicators. Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Franco Franco, Maria Angélica; Ramírez Bohórquez, Luisa Fernanda; Rodríguez Rojas, Luz Andrea; Palacios, José Ignacio; Rodríguez Rojas, Luz Andrea [0000-0003-0312-1177]; Palacios, José Ignacio [0000-0003-4701-4373]The Francisco José de Caldas District University, founded in 1948 as the Municipal University of Bogotá, has historically been an institution committed to public higher education, especially for low-income youth. Throughout its evolution, it has responded to social, political, and educational changes in the country, establishing itself as an academic benchmark in Bogotá. However, it faces a persistent problem related to its community's sense of belonging, evidenced by the lack of care for its spaces, the low value placed on institutional symbols, and a weak emotional connection to the university's identity. In light of this situation, the creation of a University Store is proposed as a strategy to strengthen the bond between the university and its members. This store will not only offer products personalized with the institution's name, but will also serve as a channel to promote respect for public property, sustainability, and commitment to higher education. Each item sold will be conceived as a symbol of institutional identity, seeking to foster a sense of belonging and project a coherent and solid image of the District University to society. The proposed management model for the store is based on optimizing available resources, from product selection to operational processes, with the aim of offering an efficient and meaningful shopping experience. To learn about the preferences of the university community, an online survey was conducted with a sample of 383 people, including students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and staff. The results revealed that the majority of the target audience are young people between the ages of 18 and 25, with a preference for online shopping, digital payment methods, and a high regard for value for money. In addition, the need to unify the market for institutional products, currently scattered across social networks and external stores offering personalized items bearing the university's name, was identified. The proposed model envisages an e-commerce platform with zero inventory, where the supplier is responsible for storage and shipping, allowing for more efficient operation. It is estimated that the platform will be able to serve up to 1,000 simultaneous users and process 200 transactions at the same time. The system consists of customers, suppliers, and the automated system, which communicate with each other because the customer makes the request, the bot informs the supplier, and the supplier is responsible for sending the product. The technological infrastructure will be supported by a server and e-commerce software. Operational processes will be defined using flowcharts to ensure efficiency in sales, orders, advertising, and suppliers. Finally, a CANVAS model was developed that identifies the key elements for the sustainability of the project, highlighting the university community, the management team, and digital channels as fundamental actors. Overall, automation was established using the Microsoft tool, Power Automate, to link communication with the website and suppliers, thus avoiding dependence on inventories or direct operational personnel.Ítem Diseño de un sistema de información para la evaluación y control de rendimientos financieros de los contratos interadministrativos entre el Departamento Nacional de Planeación y ENTerritorio N°877-2021/ENT221009(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Noriega Aranguren, Omar; Manrique López, Karina; Manrique López, Karina [0000-0001-5573-9978]This work presents the design and implementation of an information system to optimize the evaluation and control of the financial performance of the inter-administrative contract No. 877-2021/ENT221009 between the National Planning Department (DNP) and ENTerritorio.
