Senator Iván Cepeda analyzes the Supreme Court of Justice's historic ruling, which exonerates him from accusations of witness tampering and shifts the criminal investigation toward former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez for alleged procedural fraud. Cepeda describes Uribe’s reaction as a frontal assault on judicial independence and a symptom of desperation in the face of the solid evidence gathered over six years. Furthermore, he dismisses theories of an electoral conspiracy, clarifying that the swiftness of the ruling was requested by both defense teams to bring closure to a process that already contained sufficient evidentiary material. In the political and social sphere, the senator links this legal outcome to his historic work in Congress denouncing the ties between paramilitarism and sectors of power. He highlights the importance of truth and justice within the post-conflict context, drawing parallels between his situation and the persecution suffered by Magistrate Iván Velázquez. Finally, Cepeda calls for political level-headedness, promoting the creation of a coalition among candidates who defend the peace process ahead of the upcoming elections to guarantee the country's democratic stability

Álvaro Jiménez analyzes the ELN's announcement of a ceasefire during the legislative elections as a gesture of hope that could reactivate the fifth cycle of talks in Quito. However, he warns that public trust has eroded due to the contradiction between these announcements and violent actions in regions such as Catatumbo and Arauca. For the analyst, political will is not inherent; rather, it is a process of mutual construction that requires much more forceful and clear gestures of peace from the insurgency. On the other hand, the interviewee highlights that the FARC's transition to political life has strengthened the concept of peace within the nation, positioning those who persist in armed struggle against the majority will. Jiménez emphasizes the importance of the upcoming elections as a decisive stage for either consolidating or delaying the progress achieved. He concludes that, although a change of government opposed to the dialogues could slow down the process, current national and international conditions make a return to the open warfare scenarios of past decades unlikely

Professor Ricardo García Duarte analyzes the complex reality of the war in Syria after seven years of conflict, highlighting the inefficacy of ceasefires due to the overlapping interests of powers such as Russia, Iran, and the United States. The analysis underscores how the presence of the Islamic State and ethnic tensions involving the Kurdish people have degraded the conflict, turning it into a humanitarian tragedy with no clear diplomatic solution in the short term, while the al-Assad regime consolidates its position with international support. On the other hand, the Rector examines the crisis of identity and governance within the European Union, epitomized by Angela Merkel's struggles to form a government in Germany and the rise of right-wing nationalist populism following the migration crisis. Finally, he addresses the "Never Again" student movement in the United States, which emerged as an unprecedented civil response against the unregulated sale of high-caliber weapons, challenging the political influence of the National Rifle Association and establishing a new electoral horizon in response to the controversial proposals of the Trump administration

The Rector of the Francisco José de Caldas District University, Professor Ricardo García Duarte, analyzes the corruption crisis in Colombia, describing it as an "immoral capture of the public sphere" that jeopardizes the very existence of the State and its ethical function. The Rector emphasizes that corruption is not merely an administrative issue, but a degradation of the bonds of representation and civic loyalty, which demands an ethical refoundation and concrete commitments in critical processes such as public procurement

Professor Ismael Povea from Universidad de La Salle explains the critical difference between the "best-before date" and the "expiration date," noting that confusion between the two contributes to massive food waste. While the best-before date indicates when a product begins to lose organoleptic or nutritional qualities (such as Vitamin C in juice), the expiration date is a microbiological safety limit after which consumption may pose a health risk

    Reconversión Monetaria en Colombia
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Emisora LAUD 90.4 FM) Rodríguez, Luis Alberto; Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
The National Government, with the support of the Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Finance, is promoting a proposal to remove three zeros from the Colombian peso. This measure aims to simplify commercial transactions, facilitate corporate accounting, and reduce operational costs within the financial system. According to economist Luis Alberto Rodríguez, after decades of stable inflation, Colombia has accumulated zeros that are now unnecessary and complicate comparisons with international currencies, making this reform a vital step toward exchange rate modernization. Beyond administrative efficiency, the proposal has a strategic background in the fight against organized crime. By requiring the exchange of physical banknotes for a new currency family, it forces the legalization of capital hidden in "caletas" (illegal stashes), as illicit money cannot enter the formal banking system without justification. In this way, currency redenomination serves simultaneously as a monetary policy tool and a mechanism for financial transparency

Ciro y yo: memorias del desplazamiento forzado
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Emisora LAUD 90.4 FM) Salazar, Miguel; Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
The documentary "Ciro & Me," directed by Miguel Salazar, narrates the life of Ciro Galindo, a man whose existence has been systematically scarred by every actor in the Colombian armed conflict. The film serves as a pacifist anthem and a raw testimony of the post-conflict era, recounting how a family is forced to abandon the "paradise" of Caño Cristales to face the "urban jungle" and segregation in Bogotá. Through a 20-year friendship between the director and the protagonist, the film encapsulates the tragedy of millions of silent victims in the country. The narrative avoids political bias by demonstrating that guerrillas, paramilitaries, and State forces alike have victimized Ciro, turning him into a symbol of civilian survival. The visual contrast between the majesty of the rural landscape and the hostility of the capital underscores the drama of forced displacement. More than a chronicle of violence, it is a lesson in human dignity and an invitation for Colombian society to recognize itself in the mirror of its own recent history

Memoria y democracia: diálogo con José Antequera
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Emisora LAUD 90.4 FM) Antequera, José; Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
José Antequera explores his father’s legacy through family narrative and the current context of peace in Colombia. He argues that while the current assassinations of social leaders are extremely grave, they do not follow the same unified extermination logic of the Cold War that the UP (Unión Patriótica) suffered. Instead, they stem from a dynamic of territorial control and the elimination of those defending natural resources and land against post-conflict economic interests. He highlights that the visibility of leaders in cities offers a level of protection unavailable to those in rural territories, where systematic attacks are carried out with a high political cost that perpetrators attempt to disguise

José Fernando Tapia, a candidate representing the SENAFRO organization, outlines the need for authentic political representation for Colombia's Black, Raizal, and Palenquero communities. His proposal focuses on democratizing access to information in remote areas and ensuring that legal resources reach community councils directly, bypassing the bureaucratic intermediation of mayors' and governors' offices. Tapia strongly criticizes the phenomenon of non-Afro-descendant candidates usurping these seats, pointing out that the Black population—which represents approximately 9.34% of the national population according to DANE projections (nearly 4.7 million people)—requires leaders who do not compromise their autonomy through alliances with traditional parties or presidential coalitions

In the context of World Radio Day, legendary narrator Pache Andrade reflects on his nearly 50-year career, defining Colombia as a deeply "radio-maniac" (radiómano) country. Regarding the threat posed by digital platforms, Andrade argues that technology will not displace the medium but will instead serve as a strategic complement. He highlights the unique social function of radio, especially in sports, where it reaches rural corners where television and the internet still lack coverage, exponentially multiplying event audiences in real-time. Andrade also criticizes the shortcomings of contemporary sports journalism, lamenting that younger generations seek to be "commentators" before becoming well-rounded journalists, neglecting genres such as the chronicle and investigative reporting. Furthermore, he pays tribute to Carlos Arturo Rueda as the father of sports radio in the country and mentions that the great future challenge is adapting the medium to an aging population and the modernization of the AM band. With his grandchildren in mind, the narrator hints at his potential retirement after the Russia World Cup, leaving behind a legacy of passion and informative responsibility

El retorno de Wilson Borja al Congreso
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Emisora LAUD 90.4 FM) Borja, Wilson; Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
Wilson Borja justifies his return to the political arena as a response to pressure from his grassroots base and the need for experienced leadership given the country’s critical situation. During the dialogue, he analyzes the fragmentation of the Polo Democrático party, attributing it to the "systemic functionality" of figures like Clara López and a lack of ideological coherence. Likewise, he demystifies the tensions between Carlos Gaviria and Gustavo Petro, whose leadership style made internal consensus difficult, though he dismisses allegations of record manipulation due to the nonexistence of such records at the time. Regarding his proposals, Borja centers his platform for the House of Representatives for Bogotá on a profound educational reform. He proposes transitioning from a model focused on information coverage toward one centered on quality that identifies and guides human aptitudes from childhood, using European models as a reference. Finally, he defends the need to dignify the teaching profession and criticizes wage inequality in Colombia, noting that the discussion should not focus solely on congressional salaries, but on the structural gap where the majority of the population survives through informal labor

In response to the credibility crisis triggered by corruption scandals, money laundering, and illicit financing, the Association of Public Accountants of Colombia (Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Colombia) will sign a pact for transparency and professional ethics. Florestela Quiroga Mora, president of the organization, emphasizes that this initiative seeks to regain public trust through six fundamental commitments. Among these, the highlights include rigor in auditing standards, compliance with current regulatory frameworks, and, most notably, the determination to not tolerate client deviations that could turn the professional into an accomplice through silence or negligence. The event will take place on March 1st in Bogotá, as part of Public Accountant’s Day, and will feature the participation of oversight bodies such as the Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía), the DIAN (Tax Authority), and the Superintendency of Companies, alongside academic and trade union representatives. The central objective is to raise awareness among professionals and students about the social impact of accounti

Summary: "A Thorn in the Side" The report "A Thorn in the Side" (Piedra en el Zapato), presented by Carlos Guevara, reveals that violence against human rights defenders in Colombia is a structural rather than a temporary issue, one that has intensified since the signing of the 2016 peace agreement. During Juan Manuel Santos' administration, more than 550 assassinations were recorded, proving that the state's robust protection apparatus—based on weaponry rather than political guarantees—has failed. The findings highlight an increase in attacks in areas formerly occupied by the FARC and a shift of violence toward urban areas, primarily affecting peasant, Indigenous, and Afro-descendant leaders defending their land and territory. The investigation also denounces a worrying 85% impunity rate, exacerbated by corruption within regional judicial systems and a lack of investigation into implicated public officials. Although the Attorney General's Office (Fiscalía) has begun to prioritize certain cases, most convictions are limited to those with obvious evidence, failing to dismantle the underlying criminal structures, which include paramilitary groups, drug trafficking gangs, and dissident factions. Given the upcoming electoral landscape, Guevara warns that the risk to leaders increases due to pressure from local political actors; therefore, he makes an urgent call to stop overlooking this phenomenon, which has become a "thorn in the side" for the Colombian state

Revista de la Mañana. Cooperativismo estudiantil una forma de organización social
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Emisora LAUD 90.4 FM) Alfonso, Alexander; Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
The Cooperative of Integrated Professional Services (Cicop) of the Technological Faculty at Universidad Distrital—represented by Alexander, Marco, and Catalina—has demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment to the cooperative movement despite significant challenges. These include the inability to open their primary business line (the cafeteria) due to academic strikes and contractual issues. Instead of halting operations, the cooperative has diversified its business lines toward social and solidarity entrepreneurship, organizing various workshops (BMX, environmental art, photography) and cultural events, including a major Stand-Up Comedy show. These activities have been widely embraced by the university community, successfully meeting previous financial commitments and proving that students are capable of transforming obstacles into growth opportunities. The Stand-Up Comedy event held on Thursday, December 13, is a cornerstone for the cooperative; it aims to raise funds to capitalize the existing cafeteria business and, crucially, to launch a new business line. This effort is part of a macro-model of cooperative entrepreneurship that seeks to be fostered not only at Universidad Distrital but also extended to other academic institutions. The initiative underscores the importance of associated work and community support, inviting students and the general public to see that sustainable entrepreneurship models are achievable in Colombia. Furthermore, other cooperatives such as Copro (Environmental Projects Cooperative) from the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources are currently in formation, focusing on forest management and solid waste lines, evidencing the growth and practical application of academic knowledge within the cooperative movement

Senator Iván Darío Agudelo (Liberal Party), the author of the legislative project, explains that the creation of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation seeks to overcome the limitations of Colciencias, which had become obsolete and lacked sufficient governance. The primary objective is to grant science a permanent seat in the Council of Ministers, a recognition long overdue in Colombia and vital within the globally competitive "economy and era of knowledge." This new entity is seen as a necessity for the country to stop losing ground in competitiveness rankings and to fully leverage its potential. Senator Agudelo emphasizes that the key is governance, not bureaucracy, aiming to articulate, systematize, and integrate the currently atomized research efforts and budgets of various ministries into a robust system, driven by the conviction that "countries are wealthy because they do science." The establishment of the Ministry, which will come into effect and begin its structuring phase within one year, aims to generate a "cultural and mental disruption" to boost national confidence. The project highlights the importance of creating positive role models and preventing "brain drain"—talented individuals who seek opportunities abroad due to a lack of recognition and respect at home. Although concerns regarding politicization and budget allocation exist, the Senator assures that the project received unanimous approval from Congress—an exceptional feat—demonstrating that this issue transcends political affiliations. Furthermore, the goal is for the State to foster the necessary conditions for private sector investment, thereby stimulating the economy. This is considered an essential step for Colombia to transition from exporting raw natural resources to transforming them through knowledge, following the example of prosperous nations that have invested heavily in science

Revista de la Mañana. Homenaje a héroes anónios esculturas que Inspiran a Colombia
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. Emisora LAUD 90.4 FM) Saiz, Rocío; Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas
From December 6th to the 30th, an outdoor exhibition featuring 12 sculptures created by young visual artists is taking place in iconic locations across Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali. This initiative, promoted by Scotiabank, pays tribute to twelve Colombians recognized for their talent, professionalism, and significant social contributions that have transcended borders. Among the honorees is Rocío Saiz, director and founder of the 'Seamos Razones para Creer' Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life and fulfilling the dreams of children with terminal cancer. The exhibition seeks not only to recognize figures who are generally not known on a mass scale but also to inspire society by demonstrating that positive impact is possible regardless of public recognition. The exhibition, currently located at the 'placita' of Usaquén Park in Bogotá before moving to Medellín and Cali, is completely free of charge. Rocío Saiz, who was moved upon seeing her own work of art, emphasizes that this tribute serves as a boost to the responsibility of continuing to work and grow for the children supported by the foundation. The initiative also highlights the talent of the 12 young visual artists responsible for the sculptures, who, like the honorees, seek visibility for their excellent work. The project underscores the value of those who have contributed to society in various fields, such as Luis Bermúdez, a professor at the District University previously nominated as one of the best teachers in the world for his strategy to prevent teenage pregnancy

Two years after its signing, the implementation of the Peace Accord in Colombia shows a deceleration, partly attributed to the change in government and the lack of political majorities supporting certain points of the pact. The current challenge, beyond politics, is to regain the path of sustainable construction, with the economic reincorporation of FARC ex-combatants being crucial. The situation of the rank-and-file guerrillas is critical and differentiated: while in some areas like Miravalle they have managed to promote productive projects with international support, other reincorporation zones have disappeared, forcing many to disperse individually into cities or new regrouping points without a clear legal status. This complicates effective attention and protection policies. A balance of the initial period of the new government (August to October) shows a dual nature: on one hand, there is a discursive commitment and the creation of plans for the protection of social leaders and the reincorporation of the guerrilla bases; on the other, there is clear evidence of a significant setback, primarily the non-approval of the Special Transitional Peace Constituencies (Circunscripciones Especiales Transitorias de Paz), which affects victim reparation. Furthermore, the security of ex-combatants remains poor, with over 80 assassinations, often wrongly justified as disputes over illegal rents, which legitimizes the violence and affects overall implementation. Despite these challenges, the accord opens windows of opportunity for future negotiations with groups like the ELN and allows for submission-to-justice laws for organized armed groups
