Resumen
In response to the credibility crisis triggered by corruption scandals, money laundering, and illicit financing, the Association of Public Accountants of Colombia (Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Colombia) will sign a pact for transparency and professional ethics. Florestela Quiroga Mora, president of the organization, emphasizes that this initiative seeks to regain public trust through six fundamental commitments. Among these, the highlights include rigor in auditing standards, compliance with current regulatory frameworks, and, most notably, the determination to not tolerate client deviations that could turn the professional into an accomplice through silence or negligence.
The event will take place on March 1st in Bogotá, as part of Public Accountant’s Day, and will feature the participation of oversight bodies such as the Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía), the DIAN (Tax Authority), and the Superintendency of Companies, alongside academic and trade union representatives.
