This paper addresses the importance of pocket parks in the context of urban planning, highlighting their impact on residents' quality of life. It analyzes the need for an equitable distribution of these green spaces within urban areas and proposes the use of geospatial analysis as a tool to detect potential imbalances in their distribution. It also discusses the impact of pocket parks on key aspects such as social interaction, community cohesion, and the physical health of residents. The paper includes a review of the specialized literature and an analysis of the regulatory framework governing pocket parks in Colombia. Overall, pocket parks play an important role in improving people's quality of life, as they provide accessible recreational space, foster the integration of children, youth, and adults, and promote physical and leisure activities in a healthy environment. However, deficiencies were also identified in terms of security, drug-related problems, gang formation, and, in some cases, deterioration of recreational facilities.

The Colombian company AV Ingenieros S.A.S. is an organization dedicated to providing engineering construction services, focusing on the urban planning sector. The purpose of this report is to support the fieldwork carried out with AV Ingenieros S.A.S. within the framework of the project "Topographic Procedures for the Control and Monitoring of Public Spaces." This project was developed to document the topographic processes used within a civil engineering project located in the town of Suba, near the northern transport terminal. This is due to the importance of topography in the measurements and basic guidelines for starting any project. Thus, there are two types of construction: vertical and horizontal, defined as such within urban land, where the topographic area is responsible for controlling and monitoring these structural processes. Urban land comprises the areas of district or municipal land designated for urban uses by the territorial planning plan, which have road infrastructure and primary energy, water, and sewage networks, enabling their urbanization and construction as appropriate. Areas in incomplete urbanization processes, included in consolidated areas with buildings, which are defined as comprehensive improvement areas in the Territorial Planning Plans, may also belong to this category. (IGAC, 2022). Urban planning is understood as the area that encompasses pedestrian and road zones; In this report, we seek to show the conformation of a pedestrian path, where planimetric methods (simple radiation, layout and location) and altimetric methods (direct leveling) were implemented for the monitoring and control of its structural conformation.

(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Bojacá Muñoz, Cristian David; Pardo Pinzón, Janneth; Pardo Pinzon, Janneth [0000-0003-3534-2927]
Boyacá Avenue is one of Bogotá's main thoroughfares, playing a fundamental role in the city's mobility and connectivity. However, constant population growth and urban expansion in the northern sector have generated a significant increase in demand for this road, resulting in traffic congestion, longer travel times, and a decrease in the quality of life for local residents. In response to this problem, the widening of Boyacá Avenue between 170th and 183rd Streets is proposed. This project is designed to improve road capacity, optimize vehicle flow, and strengthen the infrastructure necessary for more efficient mobility. This initiative seeks not only to relieve congestion but also to integrate modern and sustainable elements, such as public transportation spaces, cycle paths, and safe pedestrian zones. This document details the objectives, scope, and methods of the widening, as well as the expected positive impacts in terms of mobility, urban development, and citizens' quality of life. In addition, environmental and social considerations are addressed to ensure the project's viability, with a focus on sustainability and comprehensive environmental improvement. This project is presented as a strategic solution to meet the current and future needs of the sector, contributing to the development of a more connected, accessible, and functional Bogotá for all its inhabitants.

This study aims to classify urban parks in Bogotá by locality, considering their size, accessibility, and topographic features through the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically ArcGIS Pro. The goal is to produce updated and detailed information to support better urban planning and a more equitable distribution of green spaces throughout the city. The methodology involved the collection of geospatial data from official sources such as IDECA, the Agustín Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC), and DANE. Shapefiles of Bogotá’s administrative divisions and registered parks were downloaded and processed. Tools like "Join" and "Export Features" in ArcGIS Pro were used to merge spatial layers based on common attributes, classify parks by locality, and calculate their area. The coordinate system was configured using MAGNA SIRGAS 2018 for spatial accuracy. Through this process, the number of parks, their total area per locality, and the amount of green space available per capita (based on 2025 population projections) were determined. The results highlight that localities such as Suba, Kennedy, and Engativá host the majority of parks and recreational space but also face challenges due to high population density. In contrast, areas like La Candelaria and Sumapaz offer fewer urban green spaces due to historical or rural characteristics. This analysis reveals inequalities in access to green areas and underscores the need for urban planning that considers demographic and topographic diversity. It also demonstrates the usefulness of GIS tools in supporting data-driven decisions to create more inclusive, sustainable, and livable cities.

Mapeo movil en municipios zomac (Genova-Quindio e Ipiales-Nariño)
(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Calderón Galindo , Yalian Michelle; Fernández Gómez, Wilmar Darío; Fernández Gómez,Wilmar Darío [ 0000-0001-6339-8050 ]
This report proposes the implementation of mobile mapping in the municipalities of Génova, in the department of Quindío, and Ipiales, in the department of Nariño. This initiative aims to improve road connectivity in these areas, which are part of the Zones Most Affected by the Conflict (ZOMAC), through the use of advanced technologies such as topographic surveys and geographic information systems (GIS). These methods allow for a detailed and accurate road inventory, facilitating strategic decision-making for infrastructure improvement. Génova, known as the "Cordial Municipality of Colombia," is characterized by its mountainous geography and an agricultural economy mainly focused on coffee production. Its tertiary roads are essential for connecting rural areas with the urban center, but their poor condition has made it difficult to transport goods and access essential services. The use of topographic surveys and GIS in this municipality has enabled a more precise analysis of the current state of the road network, identifying the areas most in need of intervention. On the other hand, Ipiales, known as the "Municipality of Green Clouds," is a border town with a diversified economy based on trade, agriculture, and tourism, with the Sanctuary of Las Lajas as one of its main attractions. However, extreme weather conditions and the natural deterioration of the roads have negatively impacted rural connectivity. The application of mobile mapping technologies, combined with topographic surveys and GIS, has facilitated the collection of precise geospatial data on the condition of the roads, allowing authorities to develop improvement plans based on reliable information. The project's objective is to conduct a detailed inventory of the tertiary roads in these municipalities, identifying priority areas for intervention and promoting collaboration with local administrations. The use of topographic surveys and GIS has been key to analyzing the road network, providing georeferenced data that allows for the evaluation of terrain topography, road quality, and specific maintenance needs. The implementation of these technologies in Génova and Ipiales represents an opportunity to optimize the planning and execution of road projects, facilitating access to essential services and promoting economic development. Through the collection of accurate data, the project seeks to improve mobility and the quality of life of residents, ensuring that infrastructure decisions are based on rigorous and up-to-date technical information.

(Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) Monroy Casallas, John Eduard; Patiño Silva, Omar Francisco; Patiño Silva; Omar Francisco [0000-0002-2318-2498]
The design and construction of a vehicular bridge requires detailed topographic studies to define the area where the structure will be located. These studies, by determining the characteristics of the terrain, allow for a strategic selection that minimizes environmental impacts and guarantees the safety of users. Following the recommendations of structural engineers, the Mayor's Office of the municipality of Silvania, Cundinamarca, decided to build a new vehicular and pedestrian bridge called “Puente La Miel”, located between Calle 9 and Carrera 10, near the main park of Silvania. To carry out the necessary studies and designs for the construction of the bridge, a contract or bidding contest was held on October 24, 2022, which was awarded to the consulting and construction company Geo Puente. The topographic part of this project was developed in three stages. First, a field reconnaissance was performed to determine the location and georeferencing of two geodetic points materialized and tracked with GNSS equipment to obtain precise coordinates. Subsequently, a closed polygon was established using a back-zero methodology. Finally, a complete topographic survey was carried out, including boundaries, roads, furniture, signs, posts, wells, green areas and other relevant elements. This study included planimetry and altimetry to generate the necessary contour lines. In addition, due to the crossing of the La Miel bridge over the Subía river, a bathymetric study was carried out at the request of the specialist engineers. Transverse readings were taken every 10 meters, for a total of 10 sections upstream and 10 sections downstream, using a total station, rod and prism, by means of simple radiation. As a complementary part, the rain and sanitary wells were inspected, as well as the drains, recording their current state, the type of piping and construction materials, then a field review of the collected data was performed, verifying that all the elements are included in their totality, then the corresponding office work of each study is performed, with final delivery and client satisfaction.

Vehicle accidents are a problem that affects cities all over the world, and Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, is no exception. Every day, thousands of vehicles circulate through its streets and avenues, increasing the potential for traffic accidents that can have a significant impact on the lives of its inhabitants. These incidents not only cause material damage, but can also result in serious injuries and even loss of life. The city of Bogota, with its constant growth and complex road network, presents unique challenges in terms of managing and preventing vehicular accidents. Understanding the underlying causes of these crashes, identifying the areas of greatest risk, and developing effective strategies to prevent them becomes an essential task for traffic and road safety authorities. In this research, we will explore in detail the problem of vehicle crashes in the city of Bogotá. We will analyze the available statistics, identify the most frequent causes of traffic accidents, and perform a detailed analysis of the areas of the city with the highest incidence of accidents. Our objective will be to visit these specific points to evaluate the conditions that characterize these highrisk areas. During these visits, we will identify the potential risks to which both vehicles and pedestrians traveling along these road corridors may be exposed. This research not only seeks to provide an overview of the current situation of vehicular accidents in the city, but also to contribute to public awareness of the importance of road safety and the need for effective measures to prevent accidents and protect citizens.
