Resumen
The academic performance of students is a key indicator in the evaluation of educational quality and the effectiveness of university training programs. In the context of the Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, a recurring phenomenon has been identified: the delay in completing the curriculum by a significant percentage of students. This raises questions about the factors influencing this situation and the strategies that could be implemented to optimize academic support.
The aim of this thesis is to analyze and systematize the academic information of students enrolled in the 2018-2 period, using R-Studio software as the primary tool. By utilizing data extracted from the Academic Management System (SGA), the goal is to identify performance patterns, critical areas, and factors associated with low performance. This analysis will help support proposals to contribute to the continuous improvement of the educational process and the achievement of curricular objectives within the stipulated time frame.
The methodological approach combines technological and statistical tools to ensure a rigorous and reliable analysis. Furthermore, a conceptual framework is included that addresses theoretical and legal aspects, as well as an analysis of the institutional contingencies that influence academic performance. This document aims not only to be a guide for understanding the phenomenon of low performance but also a resource for designing strategies to strengthen the role of the academic advisor and the comprehensive support of students.
