Resumen
The porpuse of the following research is to analyse the shape given to the concept of citizenship within the Cátedra para la paz booklets, and its relationship with the education in Colombia. This investigation was framed in a qualitative paradigm, doing a discurse analysis of the four booklets. As a result, it was found that Citizenship is thought as a formative proccess which looks forward to educating subjects able to keep the xix century characteristics. Citizenship is represented by a straightforward relationship with the nation, the territory and the participation itself. Regarding education, it is found that this one still is taken as the main formative tool, as well as the principal mean of dissemination of what is expected from each of them.
