Abstract

Urban forestry is an articulated system that encompasses planning, evaluation, diagnosis, management and supervision actions that are fundamental for the good management of urban trees, in which tree individuals are managed at a physical and chemical level so that These fulfill their ecological functions in an optimal and safe condition; For Colombia, this process had its forceful beginning in 1994 with Law 142 of the same year. As time went by, the requirements and definitions linked to this work were consolidated. In turn, it was established that the entities that provide public home services will be in charge. of this landscape component, these being responsible for carrying out with a technical and precise level the various activities necessary for this, ensuring the survival and growth of individuals; With a particular interest in Public Cleaning Services companies, we found that they are in charge of aerial pruning of all trees located in public spaces that do not interfere with bodies of water or power lines, along with exceptions such as height, conditions to roads or constructions, among others pertinent to the botanical garden and other responsible entities, which makes the cleaning companies responsible for the largest area of ​​intervention, therefore, pruning work is one of the most relevant in the maintenance of the urban trees, hence the importance of technical knowledge and its application in their activities. Given this need, the transversal view of the different phases involved in a pruning cycle allows the objective and practical construction of methodological tools that can optimize the adequate management of urban trees in Bogotá in addition to the awareness and dissemination required to adequately involve the community.
