Resumen
David Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning was applied in an activity at Nueva Andalucía School, where tenth and eleventh grade students developed food products and chemistry concepts. This allowed them to consolidate new knowledge through experimental methods, such as chemical solutions, chemical equilibrium, acidity and alkalinity, pH, chemical reactions, chemical concentrations, solutions, temperature, and classification of solutions. These concepts were focused on real-life experiences in everyday life. Tenth and eleventh grade students were organized into groups that developed food products such as yogurt, kumis, cheese, fermented beverages, and dairy products, and presented them on Science Day. This experience, through meaningful learning, strengthened research, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. As a final result of the entire process, it was emphasized that it was a success, as their grades were achieved with outstanding grades. Therefore, by applying this theory, it is assumed that the students improved their learning processes. (Ausubel, Educational Psychology. A cognitive point of view., 1983).
