Resumen
This final degree project addresses a crucial challenge for Bogotá: the optimization of transportation in the north of the city by modeling a railway section that connects the north of Bogotá with Cota using BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology. Before entering into the practical phase, an exhaustive study of the BIM methodology was carried out, laying the foundations for its application in the project. This study covered: Definition and Foundations: The concept of BIM was established as a collaborative process that integrates geometric, spatial, temporal, and cost information in a centralized digital model, facilitating informed and efficient decision-making. Global Implementation: The current adoption of BIM in various countries around the world was analyzed, highlighting its growing acceptance and the tangible benefits it has generated in projects in different sectors. Regulatory Framework: A study was carried out on the international norms and standards that regulate the application of BIM, such as the ISO 19650 Standards and the PAS 1192 Guide, ensuring compliance with best practices. Promoting Organizations: The main organizations that promote the implementation of BIM at a global level were identified, such as BuildingSMART International and the UK BIM Alliance, providing support and resources for the adoption of the methodology. Actors in BIM Projects: The role of each of the participants in a BIM project was described, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and owners, defining responsibilities and areas of collaboration. Typical Deliverables: The different types of deliverables generated in a BIM project were detailed, such as 3D models, plans, reports, and cost analysis, ensuring the delivery of accurate and up-to-date information. BIM Software: A review was carried out of the different software platforms available for the development of BIM projects, such as Autodesk Revit, Bentley Systems, and Archicad, selecting the most appropriate tool for the needs of the project. Based on the previous study, a specific analysis of the application of the BIM methodology in projects of the railway sector was carried out, adapting its benefits to the particular characteristics of this type of infrastructure.
