Resumen
The inadequate disposal of pesticide containers and packaging in their final stage is an issue that in recent years has been relevant in institutional policies and plans at the management level and from the educational perspective. This is because these containers and packaging generate negative impacts both at the environmental level and on human health. This research aims to generate contributions to the Environmental Education teaching strategy on the final disposal practices of pesticide containers and packaging carried out by the local authorities of the municipality of Machetá, Cundinamarca. These contributions arise from the recognition of the endogenous and exogenous factors present in the constitutive elements of said final disposal practices (skills, meanings and materials). These elements allow the adoption of final disposal practices by potato farmers in the Solana village of the municipality of Machetá. This occurs within the constitutive framework of the current collection project of containers and packaging of the municipality in its educational component. This research is carried out using the ethnographic method proposed by Restrepo (2015), which allows us to recognize the practices of disposal of pesticide containers and packaging under their constituent elements (competencies, meanings and materialities) through the descriptions (meanings) given by the potato farmers, and the immersion in the community (identifying the actions of the potato farmers). The above makes it possible to establish the factors that lead to the adoption of these practices. Based on the recognition of these endogenous and exogenous factors, it is possible to establish contextualized contributions to the teaching strategy in Environmental Education for the final disposal of pesticide containers. As a result, from the category of meanings, it is established that disposing of pesticide containers and packaging in caves does not present a negative impact. Faced with this fact, it is proposed to create an educational brochure with the participation of the community, which indicates the consequences of the inadequate disposal of containers and establishes the appropriate conditions for their disposal.
