Resumen
This research focuses on the management of environmental education at the territorial level, within the framework of the Local Environmental Commission of La Candelaria, in Bogotá, Colombia. This study is based on Colombian environmental legislation, which considers environmental education as a fundamental component in environmental management processes at the local level. The following recognition is reflected in the implementation of the democratization and decentralization principles in environmental education, particularly clear in instances such as the environmental commissions in the city of Bogotá. In this context, the research shed light on the mechanisms of territorial management of environmental education promoted by the CAL of La Candelaria and how these processes are aligned with the aforementioned principles. To propose strategies to strengthen the territorial management of environmental education in this scenario, the environmental education strategies implemented in the locality were analyzed, recognizing the institutional influence, institutional coordination, participation of the local community in environmental decision-making and the responsibility transfer from the central to the local level in environmental management.
