Resumen
nvironmental education has become a fundamental pillar in a world facing increasingly complex and urgent environmental challenges. The habits and lifestyles of different social groups have contributed to the accelerated deterioration of the environment. In this context, the Specialization in Environmental Education and Management (EEGA) was a national benchmark, contributing to the knowledge and understanding of environmental challenges and how they can be addressed. This was due to the rigor and innovation of its educational project, which incorporated environmental complexity as a central focus, uniting two lines of knowledge—environmental education and environmental management—and its high research output. In this sense, it is relevant to analyze the undergraduate works in environmental education at EEGA, in order to characterize the types of representations of the environment, which are a combination of knowledge, theory, beliefs and attitudes that arise in the scientific discourse of researchers in environmental education who trace the conceptual and methodological routes, address problem questions and offer intervention strategies. In order to achieve the objective, a methodology was established from the qualitative interpretive perspective, in this case, it seeks to give meaning and interpret the terms of an environmental nature, found from the content analysis in the summaries of the degree works with emphasis on environmental education, The unit of observation is made up of (61) degree works in research in environmental education of the Specialization in Education and Environmental Management. The content analysis of EEGA undergraduate theses in environmental education allows us to understand the types of environmental representations that predominate in environmental education research, and contributes to the debate on the training of researchers in environmental education and management, so that informed curricular decisions can be made.
