Resumen
This research-creation presents the development of the ITUMUN United Nations Model implemented for 6 years at the Tibabuyes Universal School with adolescents in school. ITUMUN was established as a formative, experiential and social system complementary to the curriculum, which was implemented in high school. The model facilitates the development of a set of competencies and skills which are structured in simulated debate scenarios, guided by teachers, in order to contribute to the human development of adolescents in school.
After 6 years of implementation at the Tibabuyes School, the ITUMUN model has undergone a systematic review of its traceability, obtaining high-value data such as the 16 dimensions that it has promoted in adolescents: Academic, Communicative-Reflective, Identity, Democratic, Social Responsibility, Ethics, Empowerment, Life Project, Promotion of Peace, Oratory and Rhetoric, Educational Inclusion, Technology and Information Technology, SDGs, Research, Leadership, and Topics Connected to Realities.
The 16 dimensions obtained in the systematization have supported the development of an ITUMUN Guiding Manual: Toolbox to strengthen leadership in the 16 socio-political dimensions, starting from establishing the Curricular Competencies, a General Objective, two Pedagogical Strategies, two Practical Guidelines, and an Example of Good Practice. In addition to the Timing, which allowed the construction of a research-creation product.
