Resumen
Telecommunications infrastructure has been increasing its capacity in Colombia due to the demand for new technologies and the required coverage expansion. To ensure the proper performance of the equipment (antennas), a good electrical power service is essential. In Colombia, all cell phone stations currently operating in Non-Interconnected Zones (NIZ) depend on diesel-powered generators for their electricity supply, resulting in a heavy dependence on non-renewable energy sources and high operating costs. The issues addressed in this thesis are the high energy dependence and high operating costs that affect the operation of cell phone stations in Non-Interconnected Zones, specifically in Vichada. To address this, the use of solar photovoltaic energy is proposed as a solution as a renewable, sustainable, economical, and reliable energy source, guaranteeing the operation of cell phone equipment.
