Abstract

The main objective of the Colombian Biodiversity Information System (SiB Colombia) is to provide open access on the country's biological diversity for the construction of a sustainable society. In addition, it facilitates the online publication of data and information on biodiversity, promotes its use by a wide variety of audiences, supporting the comprehensive management of biodiversity in a timely and efficient manner. On the other hand, it promotes the participation of the government, academia, the productive sector and the general public, in search of the consolidation of reliable and timely information that supports decision-making at the national and international level (Escobar & Díaz, 2018) . The purpose of this document is to evaluate the use that is being given to the data published through SiB Colombia in the framework of the preparation of Environmental Impact Studies. Initially, a bibliographic review will be used to identify whether the inputs provided by the SiB are being used and adequately referenced. Secondly, the results obtained will be categorized using tables, with the aim of organizing the information according to the trends in the use of the data and, finally, the development of the proposal will be proposed, which will be made up of different chapters defined according to the collected data.
