Resumen
This artistic research and creation project aims to design and produce a 10-minute stage performance using the Lambe Lambe theater technique. The staging will emerge from documentary and narrative research on women and mothers who have suffered the impacts of war in Colombia. The primary and fundamental sources for this project are drawn from workshops conducted by the theater collective Unión Creaselva Teatro (UCT) with the women from the local victims’ committee in Ciudad Bolívar, as well as from the Centro Nacional de Memoria Histórica (CNMH) and the Centro de Memoria, Paz y Reconciliación.
The proposal is grounded in active listening to testimonies, stories, and fractures from Colombia’s wounded past, which will be reinterpreted through theater to give them new meaning in a present and possible Colombia. This present is marked by hope, life, and the future. The performance becomes a space for reflection, action, and transformation. Titled “Sin Olvido” (Without Forgetting), the piece highlights the role of women and mothers who, through their struggles and voices, seek to heal deep wounds from the past and cultivate a collective path toward the non-repetition of violence.
This work is woven from a human development perspective, recognizing the transformative power of art and theater as sensitive tools for forgiveness, healing, the tapestry of memory, and the construction of peace or possible peaces. “Sin Olvido” seeks to create a connection that evokes feeling and reflection on the impact and the narrative of violence in Colombia told thus far, serving as an act of historical memory and a means to transform and perceive social and collective realities with new eyes.
