Resumen
Colombia is one of the many Latin American countries that has been a victim of violence, which has been present in everyday interactions since the last century. Schools are not exempt from this reality; for this reason, the main purpose of this research is to promote a culture of peace through the relationships and narratives of Fifth-grade students at the Colegio Integrado Campestre Colombia Hoy, recognizing the need for transformation of contexts through acknowledgment, diversity, and autonomy. The research process was divided into three phases to explore, interact, and build learning within the educational community regarding the importance of education for peace. This work was developed from a qualitative approach, with a critical social and emancipatory paradigm, and an action-research methodology aimed to analyze the current situation of children in their interactive dynamics while seeking profound transformations both individually and collectively. Participant observation, interviews, workshops, and photo-voice were the tools used for data analysis, which were considered the most appropriate given that the participants in the project were children. The project concludes with the creation of a peace curriculum that strengthens the bonds within the educational community, as well as a reflection on the students' and the researcher-teacher’s learning, adopting a vision of a culture of peace as a process that arises and strengthens through the diversity found in educational institutions.
