Resumen
This research establishes the historical process of institutionalization of the field of knowledge of special education in Colombia in the period between 1976-2018; understanding that this institutionalization has had its own historical process of configuration, which has been woven through policies, discourses, knowledge, disciplines, perspectives, subjects, vicissitudes and institutions, which have allowed its consolidation. The investigative methodology implemented is research in history from the indexical method. An approach is made towards understanding the following elements: the emergence of special education, special education as a field, the institutionalization of Special Education in Colombia, disability, the constitution of the teacher subject, the training of the special educator in Colombia, the school, the special educator and from integration to Inclusion.
