Resumen
This monographic work, developed within the Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities and Spanish Language, seeks to analyze the relevance of including a course based on the pedagogy of death as a transversal axis across all teacher education programs in the Faculty of Science and Education (FCE) at the University Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, and to present a proposal for teaching the pedagogy of death from the perspective of Spanish Language studies within teacher training processes. The central premise of this work is that death and grief are fundamental aspects that must be addressed in education. This study arises from the fact that, within the Faculty of Science and Education, there is no compulsory cross-cutting course that provides future teachers with the tools to approach the topic of death in educational contexts. To analyze this relevance, a comparison was made between the syllabus of different degree programs offered by the FCE, specifically the subjects that, from their name, have a direct or indirect relationship with the pedagogy of death. In addition, a series of semi-structured interviews were conducted with active public-school teachers and four students from various degree programs within the FCE to understand their perspectives and determine whether they consider the inclusion of this subject relevant in teacher education.
