Resumen
The purpose of this research project is to understand the social imaginaries of migrant children about their migrant experience and its influence on school interactions in two educational institutions in Bogotá: I.E.D. INEM Kennedy and Tibabuyes Universal. Through the stories and iconographies of two migrant children from the Caribbean Coast of Colombia and two others from Venezuela, it’s possible to look at the migrant voices and experiences as a particular knowledge of the children. This research is based on the theoretical categories as such as childhood, migration, education, social imaginaries, and culture. These categories hold subcategories concerning the differential focus. To go on with this investigation, a qualitative methodology was used and it included techniques such as child stories, interviews, and iconographic registers that allowed the identification of feelings, affections, wishes and representations of the migrant children and their expectations about their new place. In this way, there were found common aspects related to their migratory process and their adaptation capacity: the family unity, the school as a space that goes further from an educational space, the playing, the geographical space, the school dynamics, and their disposition to afront new challenges.
