Resumen
This inquiry is focused from the participatory field to observe the reality of the teaching of native language in Spain particularly the educational system of the autonomous communities of Cataluña. The main objective of this research is to make an analytical and comparative approach to the Spanish educational system focused on the numerous representations present in the framework of the training of children in elementary education and teaching of the native language in the autonomous community of Cataluña, Spain and Bogotá, Colombia. To this end, initially it presents a historical, legal and linguistic grounds tour and a characterization of the meaning and importance of Catalan in Spanish society to recognize it as vernacular and lingua franca. Similarly, an approach to elementary school, as well as an interview with a retired teacher who worked 30 years in public school. Finally a description of the Colombian educational system is presented, from an evaluative analysis of the current problems of Bogotá Colombia regarding language teaching in school today.
