Estrategias de mejora para el cumplimiento de la norma internacional basura cero en 11 regionales del Departamento para la Prosperidad Social

Abstract

This research project focuses on analyzing and proposing improvement strategies to strengthen compliance with the international Zero Waste standard in eleven regional offices of the Department for Social Prosperity in Colombia. The study addresses the growing need for sustainable solid waste management practices within public institutions, aiming to reduce environmental impacts and promote a culture of environmental responsibility. Through a detailed diagnostic process based on environmental indicators and the verification of compliance with regulatory formats, critical gaps were identified in waste separation, recycling practices, and staff participation in environmental programs. Consequently, an improvement plan was developed, incorporating capacity-building activities, awareness campaigns, technological monitoring tools, and the adoption of best environmental practices. The project aims to improve waste management efficiency, foster organizational sustainability, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
