Resumen
The aim of this research was to compare the xylem cells and marrow histologically in the Gaultheria anastomosans stem in ecosystems of fog forest and paramo, in order to find significant differences in this tissue, thus establishing its plasticity in these different zones . The work was carried out in the Matarredonda ecological park located in Páramo de Cruz verde, where samples were taken from the plant stem, both in fog forest and in páramo. Using the plant histology protocol proposed by Sandoval (2005), the respective blocks and cuts were made, of which quantitative analyzes were performed. The Wilcoxon statistical test was used to determine the existence of significant differences between the tissues of the different ecosystems, finally the possible causes of the results were elucidated.
