Resumen
This research focuses on replacing the diesel garbage truck fleet with an electric fleet in Bogotá, aiming to reduce air pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and sulfur dioxide. The case study involves the Bogotá Limpia garbage collection fleet, which operates in the localities of Engativá and Barrios Unidos, with between 1 and 23 trucks in operation depending on demand, functioning 75% of the day. The research analyzes the technical, economic, and operational specifications necessary for this transition, considering the technology of electric trucks, acquisition costs, maintenance, operation, charging infrastructure, and the planning of routes and schedules to maximize efficiency. Strategies are proposed for the effective implementation of this measure, aiming to improve air quality in Bogotá and optimize the operational performance of the fleet.
