Resumen
The present work presents in a short and concrete way the degree project: Music for video games: composition and musical production for the video game CellFactor Psychokinetics Wars. The interest in the subject and the project were raised from the knowledge acquired during the career in musical composition at the Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá, and as a response to personal interests in topics such as the creation of music for audiovisuals and the use of technological tools in the work of the composer. The work was also motivated by the interest in professional projection as a musician and composer in alternative areas such as the video game industry in Colombia. The degree work combines elements of composition techniques, research, musical production and communication to generate a musical proposal that accompanies the video game selected for this project: CellFactor Psychokinetics Wars. The video game is courtesy of the company Inmersión Games, a Colombian video game developer that is a pioneer in Latin America in the area of video game creation and production. Throughout this presentation, the process of creating music for video games will be explained in more detail, including the process of composition and musical production for three videos of the CellFactor video game, as well as the use of technological tools, software, editing and finally the synchronization of music with the videos will be examined. The text also presents the methodological aspects that guided the work, from the problem statement and objectives, to some considerations about the resources that were needed for the realization of the project. It also presents the results of bibliographic research that guided the approach to the work and provided theoretical and contextual elements for the development of the project. Finally, the document presents interviews with experts, which allowed us to learn about the experiences of people in our country and abroad who have knowledge in musical composition, in music production techniques for videos and in audio production for video games.
