Actualización física y nomenclatural de la colección de líquenes del herbario del Jardín Botánico de Bogotá

Abstract

In Colombia, lichenized fungi are found in all biomes, especially in the Andean region, the dry forest and the humid forest. Of the 18,000 species of lichens globally, Colombia has 1793, that is, 10% of the world's diversity. The Andean forests and the humid forest are the ones with the highest number of species. The new taxonomic studies of lichens present changes in the nomenclature, so it is necessary to update the lichen collection of the herbarium of the Botanical Garden of Bogotá-JBB, which entails a change in its taxonomy and its maintenance in order to preserve these specimens in optimal conditions, since they provide valuable information to know the richness and distribution of ecosystems. The objective of this work was to update the nomenclature of 1362 specimens of lichens belonging to the Herbarium of the Jardín Botánico-JBB of Bogotá through a physical (change of envelopes, label and collection number) and taxonomic update. The most representative departments of the collection are Cundinamarca and Boyacá. The families that most represent the collection are Parmeliaceae and Peltigeraceae and the genera with the highest frequency are Cladonia and Sticta. Finally, the update is a great contribution to the recognition of the richness and distribution of lichens in Colombia that are in the process of study.
