Resumen
This research process is a case study of Venezuelan immigrant boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12, who have arrived at a refuge home in the La Candelaria neighborhood of Bogotá, the project investigated the social imaginaries of immigrant boys and girls and evidenced the ways in which imaginary meanings facilitate the construction of their cultural identity in a country like Colombia. The inquiry is supported from a theoretical and conceptual framework on childhood, Imaginaries, and multiculturalism. From the imaginary meanings proposed by Cornelius Castoriadis, it is intended to understand the reality of the immigrant and how from this problem the new childhoods that converge from the political and rights frameworks have been generated and faced with constant changes in the way of conceiving and feel their realities in the situation of traveling through territories that allow them to identify and energize cultural, social and emotional constructions permeating their reality and their perspectives of conceiving their immediate context. In addition, they will be able to find how from the construction of an immigrant imaginary the importance of the place of origin is constituted and explained. In this sense, imaginary meanings are given thanks to the human being's ability to create, invent and symbolize social reality and its phenomena, permeating the daily actions of individuals, which is why it becomes the fundamental element of this investigative work which intends to unravel these symbolic creations about: cultural identity, territory and social imaginaries of a group of Venezuelan immigrant boys and girls who reside in the La Candelaria neighborhood of Bogotá. Tied to this, it will be understood that migration is not linear and structural, but rather an amalgam of meanings based on desire and fantasy, in this case of adults and not of Venezuelan immigrant children.
