Modelo de salud asistido por telemedicina para la región del Chocó

Abstract

This monograph proposes a hybrid (virtual-in-person) telemedicine-assisted healthcare model for Colombia’s Chocó Region, where Nueva EPS will serve as the administrative coordinator of a network of Healthcare Provider Institutions (IPS). Aimed at addressing critical gaps in specialized medical access—exacerbated by geographic and socioeconomic disparities—the model integrates technological platforms with in-person support to deliver culturally relevant, comprehensive care. The project will begin with a diagnostic assessment of regional needs and institutional capacities, evaluate context-appropriate technologies, design tailored protocols, and conduct technical-financial feasibility analyses to ensure sustainability. Throughout, it prioritizes the region’s cultural and infrastructural constraints to create an effective, scalable solution.
