Resumen
In the 1950s, the Bogotá aqueduct and sewerage company brought the smooth broom (Teline monspessulana) and the prickly broom (Ulex europaeus) species from Europe in order to control erosion and living fences. However, this species is among the 10 most invasive species in Colombia and among the 100 in the world due to its great adaptability in different ecosystems and its easy dispersion. What was achieved with this internship was to train more than 50 people in the removal of thorny and smooth broom with all the security measures, of which more than 80% were women in a state of vulnerability from the town of Ciudad Bolívar, in addition to this, they were certified as 'Community environmental managers' through environmental workshops, women's empowerment workshops and entrepreneurship; resulting in women with appropriation to the environment and their territory, with a possible economic income for their entrepreneurship and empowered by their strengths as people.
