Resumen
This research project was oriented to the development of the cognitive abilities of critical thinking, through the complexization of the concept ecosystem using as Participatory Action Research methodology in the context of the course 11.02 of the Morning Session of the Educational Institution "La Amistad". A total of 26 sessions were performed that were characterized by 2 main loops: 1) A process in which the central or main axis was the ecosystem and 2) A process in which the central axis of action were the shared problems encountered by the participants.In order to evaluate the development of the cognitive abilities of critical thinking, theTest Pencrisal, the results of the pre and post test were not significant, therefore a qualitative analysis was elaborated, in which a greater complexity of the arguments raised by the students during the activities of the intervention was observed. With respect to the students' previous conceptions about the ecosystem concept, we find that at the first moment they are located at the meso-cosmos level, and throughout the intervention they manage to complicate their ideas and perceive in a more dynamic way the functioning of the ecosystem, For example increase the number of relations in the system, take into account some cycles of the matter. Finally, in the students an appreciation of a change of attitude towards their perceptions and actions in their lives and in the environment, to verify that they should have given a longer intervention.
