Abstract

This monograph aims to describe the pedagogical experience developed at the Escuela Popular Guardianes del Río during 2020 and 2021, in the context of the pandemic. The document systematizes the pedagogical proposal focused on popular environmental education, focusing on the reflection and problematization of solid waste management in peripheral areas. Throughout the text, the implementation process of the pedagogical project is analyzed, along with its impacts, challenges, and lessons learned, as well as its implications for teacher training. Additionally, the monograph provides an overview of the environmental history of the Villa Cindy neighborhood in the locality of Suba and documents the process of establishing the Escuela Popular Guardianes del Río, thus serving as a historical record of this experience.
