Resumen
The present framework was developed in response to the problematic mentioned by the Alexander von Humboldt Institute about the difficulties that Colombia presents to guarantee an effective implementation of the biodiversity offsets. One of the causes associated with this problem is a lack of methodology for assessing, monitoring and checking the accomplishment of the biodiversity offsets goals and inform the stakeholders about the performance reached and the aspects that could be interfering in the biodiversity offset plan’s execution, making possible to take corrective actions to achieve an biodiversity offsets effective. Making use of review, selection and analysis of bibliography, the needed methods to achieve biodiversity offsets effective were defined. The present framework was developed to be a basis for the construction of an evaluation system to optimize the implementation of biodiversity offsets and avoid the loss of biodiversity due the negative impacts on the biotic environment in consecuence of the execution of projects, economic works or human activities.
