Resumen
The lecture and reading have occupied an important place in the Popular Education since the beginning, with the literacy of young and adult people non-schooled. In recent years, Bogotá has witnessed the reborn of a politic-pedagogic paradigm and its transformation, with the aim of fase the educative and social difficulties that not only this city but the whole country is passing through. In this context, the present investigation had as purpose analyze the role of the Reading and writing in three community projects of Popular Education developed in Bogotá: the popular Pre-ICFES “También el Viento”, located at the San Cristobal district; the popular Pre-ICFES “Los 12 Juegos” settled in the Suba district; and the “Escuela Popular de Cine y Video Comunitario”, located at Ciudad Bolivar district. The results from this research, inscribed in the interpretative paradigm, with a qualitative approach, and with an study design of multiple cases, showed how improving the reading and writing skills, contributed with the resolving of requirements of the community and the territories where this community projects took place.
