Resumen
The current research tends to analyze and evince the imaginary significance of childcare on kindergarten boys, girls, teachers, and parents at Manuelita Saenz school in Bogota. It attempts to reflect on their meanings and transcendence at different life stages in a child. Showing the importance of care throughout the educational process and childhood development becomes a key role nowadays. This project, related to the outcome for the master’s degree in Childhood and Culture, becomes the continuation and in-depth look at the outcome presented in 2009 for the specialization in Childhood, Culture, and Development. That is why results obtained in this tracing process have been resumed. Firstly, it is aimed to collect information from a group of children, teachers, and parents, to tell and document their experiences, thoughts, feelings, practices, and actions about children's care at home. It was all generated on the current Covid-19 world situation. In the context of the pandemic, care is a synonym of well-being turned into a latent need from the individual, community, and local spheres by convening a key role for each person in terms of self-care, as well as care for others and their environment from a responsible and committed stance. An analysis was created by contrasting speeches and statements from each participant in this research. These different viewpoints established a dialogue among all those images, shapes, thoughts, ways of thinking, and being in this world; all of these transformed into established and institutional significance about childcare. The need for mutual caring has been signified again by expressing attention, listening, communicating, welcoming, and respectful treatment of oneself and others. The analysis of this work was based on the contributions on Social Imaginaries proposed from Sociology by C. Castoriadis; the main approaches on the "Care of self" by Michel Foucault and the category of childcare were taken up again, and it was investigated from the postulates of the Social Organization of Care.
