Resumen
The abstract nature of science and the lack of infrastructure and equipment can negatively impact its understanding and teaching. Therefore, this research aimed to evaluate the impact of a didactic sequence based on virtual chemistry laboratories on the understanding of gas laws among high school students. Using a mixed-methods approach, predominantly quantitative, the effect of this sequence on the academic performance of eleventh-grade students at IED Colegio de la Bici in Bogotá, Colombia, was analyzed. The results showed a significant improvement in students' conceptual understanding. These findings highlight the potential of the proposed didactic sequence, along with the integration of virtual laboratories, to overcome the limitations of traditional educational environments and foster more active and motivating learning. This research contributes to the field of science education by demonstrating the effectiveness of digital technologies in teaching chemistry, leading to a deeper and more lasting understanding of complex concepts.
