Resumen
The internship carried out at Zona Logística S.A.S aimed to evaluate the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with the NTC ISO 14001:2015 standard and to explore its usefulness as a competitive tool in the logistics sector. Through a detailed review of the standard and a clause-by-clause analysis, a 64% compliance rate was identified, highlighting progress in staff training and internal communication, though challenges remain in leadership, strategic planning, and performance evaluation. Based on a SWOT analysis, strategies were proposed to strengthen sustainability, including partnerships with environmental companies and obtaining a green seal, as well as practical exercises to enhance competitiveness. The market analysis, supported by tools such as the BCG and Ansoff matrices, showed a positive shift in Zona Logística's position compared to its competitors, reinforcing the recommendation to diversify its portfolio through environmental products such as carbon footprint measurement and offsetting projects. Overall, this experience enabled the application of theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting and laid the foundation for improving the EMS and developing environmentally focused competitive strategies.
