Resumen
The grade project was based on the erosion of solid particles on the stainless steel AISI 304L, evaluating the resistance to erosive wear of this. The steel used has industrial applications in the food industry, pharmaceuticals, storage tanks, etc. A test bed very similar to the standard ASTM G76-95 was used. The erosive particle used was corundum (96% purity alumina) with a particle size of 190,283 μm. The tests were performed only at two impact angles (30 and 90 degrees), with a particle velocity of 30 m / s and at room temperature of approximately 25-27 degrees Celsius. SEM images (scanning electron microscopy) were used to determine the wear mechanism. The results showed higher wear for an angle of 90 degrees and lower for a 60 degree angle, showing wear due to material detachment, particle inlays and a longer but less pronounced footprint for 60 degrees.
