Mi experiencia y percepción como percusionista. Análisis y propuesta de estudio a propósito de la improvisación ritmo-tímbrica con el tambor alegre en el bullerengue

Abstract

Colombia is a nation whose regional diversity is evidenced by multiple artistic expressions. In the territories of the northern coast there is an extensive amount of traditional popular music. One of these is bullerengue, considered by many the predecessor of Colombian drum music. Within its dynamics, improvisation actively develops as an artistic practice, finding foundation in the culture, feelings and corporalities of those who make bullerengue. This monograph is the result of my experience as a percussionist musician; I present it as a personal perspective based on knowledge acquired during my career. The rhythm-timbral and improvisatory dynamics of the alegre drum, a traditional Colombian percussion instrument, are the main element that motivates this analysis and study proposal of bullerengue as a musical culture.
