Resumen
This research presents the development and results related to the design of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) incorporating the interactive reading model to enhance English text comprehension among 6th-grade students at Francisco José de Caldas Educational Institution in the municipality of Pandi-Cundinamarca. The research is based on a qualitative approach and principles of action research. The VLE design integrates technological, cognitive, and pedagogical-didactic components in an interdependent manner. Results demonstrate significant progress in English reading comprehension, underscoring the effectiveness of this design in the educational process. This research highlights the potential of cognitive and metacognitive strategies to effectively address difficulties in English reading comprehension among secondary education students.
