Resumen
This document is a qualitative-interpretive type study, through which it is intended to analyze the strengths and tensions of early childhood public policy, in the health and nutrition component, from the point of view and perspectives of a group of educators in two locations in the Capital District. This is caused by the tensions generated by the implementation of early childhood public policy, especially with the health and nutrition component, within the framework of the four-party agreement between ICBF-SED-MEN- and Family Compensation Funds, developed in schools. officers from the city of Bogotá. The strengths and tensions were identified from the perspective and experience of the group of educators made up of: educational agents, pedagogical assistants and regular teachers. As data collection techniques were used: the focus group and the semi-structured interview, in this way it was possible to identify that for educators, comprehensive care is to ensure the rights of children, with all the sufficient means for their developing. The health and nutrition component is part of this comprehensive care. Its objective is to guarantee the care, health and nutrition of children, in addition to preventing diseases; However, the actions of this component are not so clear to some agents and regular teachers, who generally consider that public policy for early childhood is well written, but its implementation must be rethought so that it can be meaningful and make part of a true comprehensive care.
