Resumen
The research work was carried out with the children of the El Destino Educational Institution, in the town of Usme, in the Vereda el Destino. With the collaboration of the children of 5th grade of primary school and its directors. With a duration of one and a half years of research, it lasted in 2012-02 and ended in 2014-01. With the purpose that the children will approach a real participation in the care of their natural environment. The intervention was carried out in three phases: • Recognize the ideas of children about caring for their natural environment. • Evidence the problems that children manifest in their environment. • Identify the actions that affect the environment, trying to promote the solution to the problems of their environment. Through qualitative research, it was possible to appreciate the experiences that children signified in this process, in which confidence, cooperation, self-esteem; knowledge of group work was strengthened. The Educational Action Research method was used through a critical social approach in which it was built with children to reflect on the environmental care of their rural context. In this way, the research project was built and aimed at solving the problem question. How to get the children of the El Destino educational institution to participate actively in the care of nature?
