Resumen
The teaching of mathematics can be developed by using and analyzing some means of information present in the daily life of citizens as is the case of utility bills, so this monograph aims to present a systematization of an educational experience of teaching practice when addressing functional linear equations for the understanding of the tabular and algebraic representation with ninth grade students. In order to provide meaning to the functional linear equations, it was considered as a didactic strategy to make use of the water bill and the consumption rates in the different socioeconomic strata proposed by EAAB for the year 2019. With the shared educational experience, it is expected to serve as a means of reflection and transformation in the educational practices of teachers in order to improve the quality of education.
