Resumen
This thesis explores music therapy as an element of emotional agency and therapeutic intervention in women victims of silent violence. Silent violence can be present in different everyday contexts and emotional or psychological abuse, which often goes unnoticed, deeply affects women's well-being in all spheres. The work focuses on how music therapy can become an effective tool to help women heal and regain their self-esteem. The research reviews different literature on music therapy and its application in trauma contexts, in addition to focusing on the perspective of human development from sensitivity, creativity and art as agents that enhance social transformation, where the benefits of music are highlighted in terms of emotional expression, stress reduction and improvement in mental health. Based on three music therapy sessions with women from the municipality of Soacha (Hogares Soacha), it is analyzed how these practices offer safe spaces for women in order for them to explore their emotions and find collective support networks in their personal process. The work concludes by indicating that music therapy is a valuable intervention that manages to complement other therapeutic, holistic and human development perspectives, thus contributing to finding a much more comprehensive approach that provides a solid basis for future projects and practices for working in different territories with women victims of violence, highlighting the need for these approaches to silent violence to be found from creativity: music, art, the body and sensations in unison with affectivity. Key Words: Human development, music therapy, gender perspective, emotions, music for healing, invisible violence.
