Resumen
This work aims to calculate hydraulic geometry relationships using the power regression method implemented in the R programming language. This approach models scenarios where the response variable is expressed as the predictor variable raised to a power, based on empirical data provided by the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM). Specifically, the study utilizes discharge and flow records collected from five hydrometric stations located along the upper and middle sections of the Cesar River basin: Corral de Piedra, Hacienda Convención, La Mina, Puente Callao and Puente Salguero. The analysis focuses on exploring how streamflow correlates with cross-sectional geometric elements such as water surface width and a selected hydraulic variable. Coefficients for the power regression equation y=a x^b are determined for each station, followed by the generation of three graphical representations per station, each illustrating the relationship between discharge and the selected variables.
