Diagnóstico del conocimiento oceánico en estudiantes de educación básica y media secundaria en el departamento del Magdalena, Colombia

Abstract

As a measure to advance in the prevention of impacts and the protection of marine and coastal ecosystems, the Institute of Marine and Coastal Research "José Benito Vives De Andréis" - INVEMAR and the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Magdalena - CORPAMAG within the framework of agreement 199 From 2022 they work on the "Escuelas Azules" strategy, carrying out different activities with the educational community of Magdalena, with which, the present investigation had the objective of evaluating the level of knowledge related to the ocean in students of basic and secondary education in participating institutions, for this, a questionnaire was designed and applied to 123 students in grades six, ninth, and eleventh. The results demonstrate the low level of oceanic knowledge that Magdalena students have and the difficulties faced by teaching and learning oceanic culture in Colombia, in addition, they highlight the importance of implementing new teaching methodologies using different educational tools such as web pages.
