Resumen
The José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden, also known as the Bogotá Botanical Garden, was founded on August 6, 1955, by the scientist Enrique Pérez Arbeláez as a space for scientific research, especially in the ecosystems of the paramo and high Andean Forest, promoting sustainability and environmental education. It has 3 locations, and its main location is of interest for this internship, which has approximately 20 hectares where the administrative functions are developed and the services provided by the entity are centralized. On the other hand, the Botanical Garden has different work areas, among them is the administrative area, of which the planning office is a part, which is made up of different lines of work; One of them is the Institutional Plan for Environmental Management (PIGA). This line of work is responsible for identifying environmental aspects and impacts to create goals and objectives to reduce the environmental impact by promoting the sustainable consumption of water and energy, and to adequately manage solid waste generated in the entity to improve the environmental conditions of the entity. During the internship in the Institutional Plan for Environmental Management (PIGA), training and support were provided in the proper segregation and final disposal of waste generated in the garden. A pilot campaign was developed and executed focused on raising awareness among officials and the different schools that visited the entity about single-use plastics by creating love bottles and training in a dynamic and fun way on the correct way to use recyclable and ordinary solid waste bins.
