Resumen
This research aimed to identify how family agency can reconfigure the construction of subjectivities in young consumers of psychoactive substances in the city of Bogotá. To achieve this, an analysis of the narratives of the young people was conducted using a qualitative approach, employing semi-structured interviews and questions based on the Instrument of Prospective Autobiography proposed by Professor Jairo Gómez-Esteban from the Master's in Interdisciplinary Social Research at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas, with the epistemological approach of the Theory of Individuation, developed by the sociologist Danilo Martuccelli.
The results suggest that family agency plays a fundamental role in reconfiguring subjectivities and in the construction of life trajectories for the young people. This is evidenced by the institutionalized and non-institutionalized challenges they have had to face, as well as the resources and support available to them in the search for other possible worlds, based on their experiences, life stories, dreams, and desires.
The study concludes by highlighting the importance of various forms of support provided at the family level to engage in meaningful occupations and how family agency facilitates spaces for enunciation and the construction of subjectivities. Based on the findings, it is recommended that public policy integrate the family as a key institution and social agent in the life trajectories of young people, along with an approach that allows for giving voice to the individual narratives of each young person.
