Resumen
This work analyses the wind potential of the municipality of Sibaté Cundinamarca, as well as a design of a lighting system on a pedestrian and vehicular public road in this municipality and a simulation, 3D renders, of the lighting system designed, to show what it would look like once the system was installed; for this purpose, the computer tools of Lumion, SolidWorks and SketchUp. In the design of the system, the Rayleigh Distribution is used, among other concepts, to analyze the wind data of the municipality, which are obtained from two different sources: the official NASA meteorological data page, and the wind data published by IDEAM; with these, an average wind speed for the municipality is calculated. The type of track and the type of luminaire are then selected, and it is determined, using the DIALux software, whether the luminaire complies with the parameters set out in the NTC 900 standard, which is the public lightingstandard that governs Colombia. In view of the above, a vertical axis wind turbine is selected to supply the selected luminaire power from the calculated wind speed, two different designs (systems) are proposed to select the most appropriate one; a commercial wind turbine VAWT Savonius FS 600V is selected The first system requires 50 wind turbines per kilometer of track and the second only 31; the second design is chosen because of the smaller number of wind turbines. It was decided to install the 31 wind turbines in an area adjacent to the road to be illuminated, thus forming a small wind farm. Finally, an estimate of the costs to install the selected system is made.
