Ítem Adopción del sistema globalmente armonizado de clasificación y etiquetado de productos químicos (sga) en la empresa de construcción Bessac AndinaPulido Pérez, Deisy Rowina; Jimenez Parra, JairoThe implementation of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) in Colombia has been taking place since the 90s, however, it is until the departure of Decree 1496 of 2018 that the country formally adopts this system, forcing all economic sectors to include it within its chemical risk prevention activities. For this reason, Bessac Andina, a micro-tunnel construction company classified as a consumer of chemical substances, decides to adopt the GHS. The adoption process is initially carried out through a diagnostic that discloses the preliminary status of the company against the substance identification system, with which a tool is developed that allows have more control over the products that are held in the work fronts, identify the priority substances and that the harmonized label generates as an instrument for workers to adequately identify the hazards to which they are exposed in the development of their tasks. This process of adopting the GHS in the company can be taken as the first step or basis for the development of a program that allows it to effectively manage chemical risk.Ítem Diseño de un Programa de Gestión en Riesgo Químico para los Laboratorios de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Militar Nueva GranadaCasallas Ortega, Nicolas David; Jimenez Parra, JairoThis research project aims to design the program on chemical risk management for laboratories of the faculty of medicine at the Military University Nueva Granada, thereby obtaining the occupational risk prevention and reduction of environmental impacts from exposure not controlled to chemicals. The steps were carried out during the development of the research methodology were: initial diagnosis, evaluation and program design. The initial diagnosis was the review of the information, examine the existing inventory and conducting surveys regarding personal protective equipment and training on handling chemicals. For evaluation he was visited and inspected each of the areas that make up the medical school and identify the most important characteristics of facilities among which are: ventilation, lighting, storage place, cabinets, closets, shelves, areas washing, access points, alarm systems. Program design on chemical risk management has an updated inventory of the chemicals from each of the laboratories and storage warehouses, instructional management of chemicals, the compatibility matrix chemical areas, the matrix hazard areas and the protocol for disposal of chemical waste, in compliance with current Colombian regulations on Safety and Health at Work and allowing the development of the activities of all persons in safe spaces.Ítem Diseño de una guía de valoración y prevención de riesgo químico aplicable a la empresa Curtiembre Galindo Barrio San Benito BogotáCardenas Reyes, Yurany Paola; Valeo Ovalle, Carolina; Jimenez Parra, JairoThe tannery industry has been characterized by presenting high levels of pollution not only for the environment but for the exposure of chemical agents dangerous to the health of workers. The design of a guide for risk assessment and prevention by chemical agents to the CURTIEMBRE GALINDO located in Carrera 17b No 59 a - 31 south, the San Benito neighborhood of the city of Bogotá was carried out by means of a qualitative observational descriptive study and was based in the initial diagnosis through the inspection of the different stages of the tanning process, applying a checklist where aspects such as substance used in each stage, knowledge and management of safety sheets, total exposed personnel, time of inspection were related exposure, use of personal protection elements and storage of chemical substances. For the risk assessment, the data obtained in the inspection list, the classification of the hazards of the substances based on the globalized harmonized system and the evaluation were compiled by means of the guide for the identification of the hazards and the assessment of the safety risks and occupational health (GTC45). Of the 20 chemical substances used in the 3 stages of tanning transformation, only 6 have a medium level of risk and level of acceptability d, which does not represent any significant risk to the health of workers. Of the remaining 14 chemical agents, 10 present a high level of risk and a non-acceptability of the risk, which indicates that there is no optimal control for the management of these substances, putting workers' health at risk, causing probable injuries instantly or in a moderate time. The last 4 substances including sodium chromate gave us an unacceptability because it represents a high risk of health effects and the possibility of acquiring diseases such as cancer, mutagenicity, harmful ingestion among many other serious health consequences. 11 The vast majority of workers are unaware of the characteristics, properties and risk of exposure to the chemicals they handle daily in their workday. It was observed that the protection elements that are used are not adequate for the handling of these chemical substances, in the same way the lack of training of responsible and due use of the substances is not carried out continuously. The guide design has a simple and essential structure that allows the worker as well as the employer to identify the properties of each chemical substance at each stage of the process, the classification of danger, the safety data sheet of each chemical supported by the globally harmonized system, characteristics and labeling, its safe handling, the personal protection elements with their specific characteristics and the prudent exposure time. All this to comply with the provisions of current Colombian regulations on hygiene, safety and health at work. The purpose of which was to implement the Globally Harmonized System for labeling and classification of SGA chemical products, which are involved in the process of welding, painting, fibering and injection of polyurethane. The first thing that was carried out was a diagnosis through a checklist that allowed us to know the initial state of the company in relation to the development and implementation of the SGA, which was our basis for starting the classification and labeling of chemical products. Once this information was obtained, an inventory of the chemical substances involved in the aforementioned processes was carried out (approximately 30 substances), in order to be able to identify and classify them according to their dangerousness (physical danger, danger to health and danger to the environment) to develop their label. Once the products were labeled, a general review of the safety data sheets was carried out in order to make recommendations against this document, which is the responsibility of the manufacturer or supplier to supply. In parallel, the storage of chemical products was reviewed, ensuring that it complied with the compatibility matrix. Finally, we focused on training personnel who handle the products so that they understand the purpose of this system and learn to identify the dangers of each one of them.Ítem Propuesta de mejora para un Espacio de Trabajo en un Laboratorio de Análisis de Medicamentos, teniendo en cuenta la Normatividad VigenteSuárez García, Andrés Felipe; Jimenez Parra, JairoThe main objective of this document is to present an improvement proposal for a physicochemical analysis laboratory. To achieve this, a risk analysis methodology will be used, allowing the identification and evaluation of possible chemical, mechanical and physical risks present in the workplace. Based on the evidence obtained, a work space will be proposed that complies with national and international regulations related to the dangers and risks to which workers are exposed.
